This game has taken over all of my free time. Anyone here still play it? What do es everyone think about the new competitive playlists?
Still nothing compared to H2 or H3. However they have made a great jump with the competitive playlist, but i think they lost to many players really fast due to no ranking system and a nerfed skill level. Ive played at MLG events since 08, and was a huge fan of H2 back in the day. I play it every once in awile during my free time, but H4 doesnt feel like H3 and has such a nerfed gameplay compared to the skill it took to master H2. All in all I would give it a 7 as it was better than the failure that was Reach. H2 needed a few more maps, but Midship and Lockout are the greatest maps of all time. H3 was a step down, but did not nerf the skill level to much. I can pick up a controller and kill anyone in H4, and it doesnt take much skill to play compared to the other 2.
Been going downhill since Halo CE. Halo 4 is alright I guess.
Halo sucks big massive hairy nuts
Yep..Its mainly where you got your start from. I didnt play until H2 so that is my favorite, but i went to events in H3 and played top64 in a few so it was the one i was better at. Reach+ has been a disaster...HOPEFULLY the rumors at true about H5 being a remake of H2, but I aint holding my breath
I have a Halo 1 montage I made like 7 years ago. Badazzzzzz.
Haha. I have made a few H3 ones....One was too long to put on youtube but it had some skill multi kills against some Pros. Got a sick triple against Status Quo, I embarrassed Heinz while i was no-shield on Narrows
Yeah it still doesn't have the same feel of Halo 1-3. I do think it's getting better though with the new playlists and patches. I've been playing a lot of doubles and team throwdown. Those are by far my favorite game types. Rumor has it that a true skill ranking system will be coming in April. If that happens hopefully we will see a lot of competitve players come back.
Yeah i wont be going to events unless they un-nerf the skill level as well though. Its so easy to hit shots, and strafing is just so terrible, no wiggle and it feels so slow
Yeah 343 really shat the bed by not having a true ranking system. That and MLG dropping Halo from the circuit pretty much put the game on life support. I'm just glad that some of the former pros are now working with 343 to help with developing competitive game types.
They have been for awile and at first it looked great, but the gameplay was to easy for someone to shot the DMR. The maps were made better for BRs and he DMR was overpowered. Luckily they finally got it right by putting the BR as the main weapon, as it takes a little skill to shoot it. It has a similiar feel of H3, but i feel slow strafing, and sprint is still something Halo needs to work on...its a little to overused in beat downs. Need to make it a little slower, theirs not many set ups for maps as it feels like a FFA while playing.
Yeah I feel ya. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if they completely removed sprint. Hit me up sometime if you get back on Halo. I think we're still friends on xbl and I'm on every night.
If they remove sprint, make some better maps, and put in a good ranking system, ill start playing again. I used to love playng Halo 3, but H4 and Reach are too much like COD
