Nickleback, Hinder, and Kid Rock really suck IMO. Actually all mainstream music sucks now. Musical talent does not matter anymore. It is more about image and how cool you look and dance which is everything in rap and pop music. Am I just a hater or does anyone else feel this way? I miss the 90s rock and even rap music was good back then.
Nah man I feel ya. That gaga and niki chick are scary. Soul ja boy insults my intelligence as a human being
Officer William Roberts, aka Rick Ross
This has to be the worst ever.
Any boy band not named color me bad.
Anything Weezy puts out these days is pretty much guaranteed to suck
Leave kid rock out of this
What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome.--Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
I'd argue you are a hater. If rap wasn't all about how you could dance or cool you look back then, could you explain MC Hammer? Or maybe Vanilla Ice? 2Pac and Biggie were rapping about different stuff, but I doubt that "Changes" was on the radio. Just like K-Naan or K-OS aren't on the radio right now and Weezy is doesn't mean that my generation of music sucks. It's kind of like how "Sugar Sugar" won't be the most defining song of the 60's, but that was one of the most played songs back then reaching number one; Nicki Minaj won't be the crown jewel of the new millennial. People like Mumford and Sons/Ben Folds won't get played on your top-40 hits, but they will have a longer lasting influence similar to your Led Zeppelins as opposed to One Direction.

If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
Yep, last time I listened to him was that No Ceilings mixtape
I'm not big on nostalgia, but MCH and VI be damned, give me the fvcking 90's.
There's still good music to be found now, but the 90's was an era incredibly rich with great music...it wasn't hard to separate the wheat from the chaff...great music was EVERYWHERE
But I'm pretty sure OP was condemning current mainstream music. I get your point about there always having been mainstream dreck, but to the extent that you suggest that there wasn't also plenty of great music right there side by side with that dreck, your point is not well taken IMO.
During the same era that songs like "Sugar Sugar" were dominating the Top 40 , so were songs like "Light My Fire", "Respect", "Sunshine Of Your Love", "Honky Tonk Women", etc..
Where is today's "Light My Fire" among "Top 40" music?
I'm with you...Nickelback makes me want to throw up.
I have been enjoying some Bad Relgiion lately.
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
I hate all hip hop, 90% of country, all fake rock like Nickelback.....I hate a lot of music today. I pretty much stick to the metalcore/hard rock styles, as there are some good bands that put out some good music. Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, In Flames, and there are some less known ones that I really like. I also really enjoy The Black Keys.
A big difference in music than what I use to rock to. Soundgarden, Candlebox, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers.........
I go where the talent is. Do I think the talent is the same with this metalcore scene as compare to the 90's? Not at all. I'm glad its here, though. I miss the 90's bad
