How was the dog secured in a car with windows rolled all the way down? How can an induvidual secure the dog while wearing cuffs?
Sorry, I disagree entirely. No need to argue it further.
Sorry Hoss, your still wrong. Theres no way I am letting a suspect go back to his vehicle.... not ever. That is Officer Safety 101. I'd rather take my chances of the dog jumping out the window than having the suspect go back to his vehicle where he can let the dog out and get a gun or any type weapon himself.
Its a tricky situation, but the officers made the right call for what they had to do. The dog should of been retrained anyways.
Its pretty obvious to me, none of you have experience doing law enforcement. So why dont you leave the judgement calls on safety to the professionals.

The first priority was safety, and that is why the dog was put down.
So you're just a cop defending your own. Why can't you just admit the cops made a false arrest that led to them shooting a dog?
False arrest, how? Because you dont agree with it? Just because you dont know the laws, or agree with them. Doesnt make it not against the law.
And if that's the case then you need to make sure that the dog is secured properly. As a result of not securing the animal not only are you potentially unsafe but all those folks that were standing around aren't safe either. I'm not arguing that they shouldn't have shot the dog. I'm saying that it shouldn't have happened in the first place. If you're telling me those officers handled the situation correctly from beginning to end then you are fantastically incorrect.
Nope sorry. If the first priority was safety the dog would have been secured. I'm not arguing that they shouldn't have shot the dog. I'm arguing that the dog should have been secured before they placed the cuffs on the dog's owner.
Listening to music loudly isn't an arrestable offense.
What laws were broken?
If the perp was white I bet you'd feel differently.
Interfering with an investigation? I dont know the whole sitaution. but just because your in cuffs doesnt mean your being arrested.
Btw, I watched the video and it literally shook me to my core... I HATE seeing this kind of things, I love dogs and as much as I believe this dog wasnt meaning any harm, the officers did the right thing. And, you can also see the clip was edited and it cut something out....
When you only have 2 officers, you cant let the guy go back to his vehicle... there's 1 arresting officer and a cover officer. If there were extra officers, yeah maybe you can let him go back and secure it. but not when things escalated so quickly....
God, I really hate seeing that and I wish I wouldnt of watched it...
I watched this video twice. I tried to find fault with the cops but I simply could not. The cops were acting in their best interest. If I saw a 100 pound Rotweiler coming towards me and barking. It would be frightening. The cops should have tried to taze or mace the dog. However, I find no fault in the officers in this situation. It's a lot easier to be an armchair QB then when it happens in the moment.
You know nothing about law. Speeding is an arrestable offense! As is loud music. The officer has the choice to jail you or ticket you. This jack wagon got what he deserved. The dog didn't and I feel for the dog. When you sign your ticket that is a promise to appear and a Own Recognizance Bond. You are released with the promise to appear. Try not signing your next ticket and see if you don't go to jail. Some of you amaze me. As far as the cops were concerned the dog was secure. They do not know the dog and how it will react. I have a Pit and Rott that will lick you to death if you and I were to fight. Not all dogs react the same. Police officers can not predict the future. They were already on a high stress call and all this asshole can think about was filming the popo and causing a nuisance. If we citizens would be more cooperative with police and let them do thier jobs 90 percent of this crap wouldnt happen. But instead we have to impress our buddies. Even the people filming were laughing at how stupid this guys was. Yeah, they thought it was funny for one reason. He was acting out and showing off. Why not just leave?????
I stopped reading at "speeding is an arrestable offense." Except its not.
Actually it is. If you refuse to sign the ticket the officer can and will take you to jail. Bank it.
Almost anything can be an arrestable offense, just depends how you handle yourself.
Refusing to sign the ticket =/= speeding.
Reading comprehension and such.
You can be arrested for excessive speeding... I win the internetz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
Cool story bro. Listening to music loudly isn't an arrestable offense.
So, I'd assume since your so knowledgable you know every detail about this situation right?
No, I didnt think so. You know what a 3 minute video tells you, a video which was edited to cut out a part of what was happening. Like I said before, you do not know what your talking about, you dont have the details, or the background on this story. You dont know how cops operate, so dont try to be an internet lawyer.
This is just another reason for me to hate cops.
Cops operate as if the laws dont apply to them.
So listening to loud music is an arrestable offense?
I think it's cute that you're rushing to the defense of your fellow officers, I'm sure they appreciate it, but you're fvcking retarded. There was no excuse for that situation to be handled so poorly. I've said at least 3 times I don't begrudge them shooting the dog, but had they done their jobs properly there would have been no need to. They handled the entire situation like shit, and because of that they had to shoot the guys dog.
I'm not talking about this shit with yall.
