Could Devin Gardner be the B1G's best QB in 2013?

Looked great in the bowl game and would have easily led the league in QB rating with more attempts.
60% completion and a better than 2:1 ratio of TD:Ints with really less than adequate prep at the QB position.
Really look forward to seeing how things unfold with him in what could be Al Borges's first season to actually run the offense that he wants to run.

Gardner is a sharp individual, and by all accounts a tireless worker. No doubt he improves this year.

I'm personally wary of Borges as a playcaller, but I will admit I haven't seen a lot of his offense. What I have seen hasn't really given me confidence.
I think Gardner will do just fine, though.

Honestly Borges is really weird.
From what I've seen he's very hit or miss on his play calling. Most weeks he calls a pretty solid game, but every once in a while he lays an absolute egg (OSU this year).

13/18 TDs came against NW, Iowa and Minnesota and they needed a Hail Mary to beat NW at home.
Threw an INT in every game as well.
Now, he's not going to suck- but best in the B1G with 3 new OL for UM and no proven run game or outside WR threat? No

So just over 66% percent of his TD's came in 60% of his starts? Wow that's a good stat brah.
That also means he had 5 TD's in his other 2 games which is still 2.5 per game.

Borges is a great playcaller, IMO. No one has seen his offense yet out of Michigan though. Hoke was in a tough spot, IYAM. He had Denard, who the fans loved, but he really shouldn't have been the QB....if they wanted to move to what Borges likes to do.

Probably one of the top 3 or 4 in the B1G, IMO. League was awful at that position last season, with McGloin probably being the one exception, IYAM.
Hard to judge Braxton against that level of competition.

this kid is supposed to be the best QB in the B10 next year, but couldn't beat out a slot receiver pretending to be a QB in a system designed to throw the football?

Unfortunately for Maxwell, who could be the best in the league, he had no time to do anything last season. I am not sure if that will be fixed this year or not.
