Could the Cotton Bowl have most intriguing matchup if KSU loses?

  • If KSU loses and Oklahoma wins, OU goes to the Fiesta and KSU would presumably go to the Cotton Bowl and face aTm.

    Klein vs Manziel...Heisman winner versus Heisman runner-up? Big XII vs SEC...KSU looking to avenge their bad loss to Arky last year...aTm looking to show they are the best in Texas and build a foundation to take over th state...

    Outside the BCSNG, this would be the most compelling matchup to me.

    Probably, but I'd rather see KSUvTexas A&M at the Cotton and LSUvMichigan in the Cap One Bowl. Better storylines IMO.

    This. It is a done deal. The Cotton Bowl supposedly just made a deal to take the loser of the SECC.

    If Georgia doesn't win, the Dawgs will be the second SEC East team in the Cotton. I think Tennessee has been twice.

    LSU to the Chick-fil-A to play Clemson. Interesting matchup of offense vs. defense there.

    SEC-affiliated bowls are going to be quite stellar this year matchup-wise.

    Bowl invites are " contracted" tie-ins..

    SCCG Winner = NCG*
    Sugar = SEC #1 vs at-large
    Cap One =SEC #2 vs B10 #2
    Outback = SEC #3/4 vs B10 #3
    Cotton = SEC #3/4 vs B12# 2
    Chick-fil-A = SEC#5 vs ACC #2 ( to make if competitive cool)
    Gator = SEC #6 vs B10 #4/5
    Liberty = SEC #7/8 vs C-USA #1 (see ACC match up above)
    MusicCity = SEC #7/8 vs ACC #6
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    current BCS poll (most predict the SECCG loser will finish ahead of LSU)
    2.AL.
    3.Ga
    4.Fla
    7.LSU
    9.A&M
    10.S.Car.

    I got your inbox message but since I am blacklisted form BOL it will not let me send them back to you. So I'll just try and answer it here if you don't mind.

    The popular rumor this morning is that Texas has told the Cotton Bowl that they will decline an invite if Texas A&M is invited too. So, supposedly the Capital One Bowl and the Cotton Bowl have come to terms on an agreement where they will switch. The loser of the SECC game today will go to the Cotton and Texas A&M will go to the Capital One. Not sure 100% if it's true or not, but a lot of people believe this to be true.

  • The Capital One Bowl usually likes to take the best team that isn't the loser of the SEC Championship Game.

  • Anyone else think that the SEC can go 7-2 in bowl season?

  • i think its "cute" that Texas could finish outside the top 20 AGAIN & yet they are "demanding" Bowl matchups they have a chance to win. lol
