I'm truly not trying to start shit, but couldn't it be very similar to playing A&M? At least in Oregons case. Good offenses can beat good D's. Bama should know that. Granted I think Bama beats A&M 8 out of 10 times and honestly I think Oregon beats Stanford 8 out of 10 times. I tnink Oregon would've been a tough matchup for Bama. Tougher then ND imo.

Haha I see you left off Florida even tho they stomped FSU becase they got worked in their bowl game by a not so "great" offense. I bet before Floridas bowl game you would have had them as one of the top defenses in the country this year. Troll on brother, troll on.

A good QB can beat a great defense. I don't think anyone is debating that. BUT that QB has to be VERY precise. If he throws the ball inches off it will not work. And even still that great defense can slow the opposing offense enough that their own offense can score enough to win the game. Look at Alabama versus Texas Tech in the 2006 Cotton Bowl (2005 season). Texas Tech averaged 42 points a game entering the game. Alabama's defense only allowed them to score 10 points and even though Alabama had a poor offense they won the game 13-10.
Give me a great defense over a good offense any day.

I do think this is partially right due to the running QB, difference I see is that A&M has 2 tackles that might be top 15-20 picks. Will an Oregon OL guy go in the first 2-3 rounds? I dont see Oregon enough to really even know. I also think that A&M has more weapons in the passing game but could be wrong

Oregon has a good defense. If you watched the way Kansas St steamrolled teams this season at times and then the way Oregon just shut them down, I am not sure how you can say that they don't.
Kansas St just didn't have the athletes on the back end against Oregon. When they kept people in fron of them, they were successful, but not enough speed in the secondary to keep up when Oregon broke anything past 5 yards. Kansas St's defenses didn't play that bad though, IMO.
I do think a defense like Alabama or Notre Dame that are very physical up front would give Oregon a lot of problems, but I would call it a sure win or anything close to that for either. I feel that Oregon is one of the top 2 teams in the country. We will find out the other one on Monday, but I am leaning a certain direction there.

Could you imagine if these teams were playing a great defense?
