Cowboys fire Rob Ryan

I'm sure I can find one, hold on. They were talking about it on First Take last week.

He sure as hell came out (Garrett) and said that he respected Norv Turner but that he wasn't going to give up play calling duties. Give me a minute.

Edit: Here is the link of the First Take segment.

Garret has already said he's open to giving up play calling duties. I'm out so ill watch the video later.

Just watch it and get back to me.

I'm sure Jones has told him to shut up since then. That video was the Monday after the loss to the Redskins but it does show Garrett talking about Norv and saying that, "Even though he respected Norv tremendously, he didn't think that it was a good fit."

Watch it and tell me if I'm wrong on that. Again that was a couple of weeks ago.

  • Firing Ryan was a flat out stupid move. People don't like the guy, but he can coach. When he took over, they were at the bottom of the league in all categories. This season, they were 19th, in-spite of all the injuries. Jerry Jones needs to drastically upgrade the secondary, DL, and OL. Their DL have become nothing more than primadonnas.

This is true. That LB corps was decimated by injuries. Both of the lines were mediocre. They also need a QB who doesn't lay down in the fetal position at the end of big games.

And yes, Jones is quickly becoming Al Davis in his later years.

  • Jerry using Ryan as the scapegoat to shield his piss poor management of head coaches, players, and his own short-comings is ridiculous. Firing Ryan will come back to haunt this franchise for many years to come. They will immediately fall back into a bottom tier NFL defensive team.
