HaHa you mean the conference that you couldnt win. So if it's a crap conference and you haven't won it since 98 or something what does that make ATM.

I know the answer...A piece of the crap.

  • Lol, he just said the bench doesnt matter in sports.. Basketball, football.. HA.. I bet those teams we played last year wished they had more DL depth.

Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.

I like it also. I don't agree with him this year cause i think USC and another team will be in the Title game with USC winning. I wouldn't bet on Oklahoma or Oregon to be in the top 5 though. I think maybe michigan gets in at 2.

Not even factoring in respective talent, the wheels would have to come off completely for Oregon not to be in the top 5 most of the season - simply given how BSU their schedule is this year. They only play one team with a sniff - USC.

That is a pretty stupid statement. There are some positions you can get by with without it if you don't have injuries, but at the DL, RB, WR, and LB positions, it is pretty crucial to have at least 2 deep that you can rely on to perform at a high level......and that is assuming no injuries.

  • Really surprised he doesn't have USC number one. He seems to be really high in them.

Ou will look unbeatable until they play somebody decent and then they will flop. USC is stacked with their starters but I just can't take them seriously for a whole year

Bama and lsu are the top 2 until proven otherwise IMO

Everybody is buying into this myth that USC has no depth because they are down 10 scholarships. There are three positions that there are depth issues at, there is depth there it's just young and untried but vey talented.

I don't think that Cowturd (as the OP put it) was talking about USC when he mentioned depth. He was actually talking about OU. They have some issues as well, namely at one of the positions that has been a huge strength for them in the past, WR. Plus they are very short in regards to numbers at OL.

There are some issues at USC, but there is enough depth, IMO to get by, unless of course there are some injuries at the wrong positions. Even then, there are probably only a couple teams on the schedule that are probably capable of exposing that as well.

Aside from Oregon, if USC plays well, there isn't anyone that can beat them this year on their schedule. Oregon, of course, is good enough to win even is USC plays well depending on who get the right "bounce" to go their way. Then, if USC is lucky enough (any team that gets there is lucky to some regard) to get to the BCSCG, any minor injuries that could have been nagging people will have time to heel before that game anyway.

There is truth to having depth, but with 85 scholarships, a team at full strength is going to have at least one issue here or there. I think people put too much stock in USC's lack of depth last year into this year. Last year it was a bigger problem than it is this year, IMO. I do think that USC will have a sporadic year here or there over the next few that it may rise again until they are able to bring in a couple of 25 man classes, but I don't point to this year as being the issue.

Every team in the top 5 (assuming it is LSU/Bama/USC/Oregon/OU) would be devestated if they lost a QB. It might hurt USC the most based on the type of player Barkley is, but it would kill all 5 of them. OU would probably be the best off as far as the back up, then maybe Bama or LSU based on the type of offenses they run, but I would say with 99% certainty that any of those teams are out of it if a QB goes down at the wrong time.

  • Cowherd is an idiot. No doubt about that.

    1. Bama
    2. LSU
    3. USC
And then it gets jumbled up pretty good after that. OU shouldn't be in the top 5 though.

Fully agree save for the QB breakdown. SC and OU would be devastated if they lost their QB. LSU and Bama can win on D alone methinks. Oregon has two QBs that are fairly equal. Who winds up starting will probably come down to a coin flip.

He's a huge SC fan and is tight with Kiffin. I don't think he makes any secret about that.

The mental aspect of it would be the worst. Barkley is such a leader it would gut the team for a while.

The RS frosh two back ups were highly recruited and were early entries as well. They have two spring practices and one full season under their belts. Last spring Barkley took very few reps because they were grooming both these guys in case of emergency.
