I'm not saying nothing should happen but NCAA penalties always hurt those who did nothing wrong. That's the system they have set up. Why let those players leave the program without having to sit a year? I'm not saying there shouldn't be some form of punishment but I have always had issues with the way they handle there business. Nothing the NCAA does will correct or vindicate the victims in any way because they are punishing people that had nothing to do with the crime/cover-up. I know they are somewhat helpless to go after the wrong doers but this isn't going to mean anything other than more forcing a penalty on people that have done no wrong. JMHO

Absolutely, I feel that way. Tell me why the players on USC's team deserve to be on probation when they didn't break the rules? I know the NCAA's jurisdiction is limited so their job is tough but I have never liked the fact that their punishments don't really punish the ones responsible but do punish those who have done noting wrong.

Rectifying things by erasing names from record books and vacating wins are legitimate and fair IMO...putting teams on a bowl ban 5 years after the rules violations seems unjust. It's like sending someone to jail for the crimes of their parent's...the institution is being punished but not the ones who violated rules/laws.
