You can't expect any true freshman to make the impact Tuitt did.

Tuitt is a special kind of player... Mcdowelll couldn't even hold his jogstrap.

    lol Alright.

Skill wise sure but he has a whole year to improve, I think the Tuitt clone reference was made for sheer size and that he can play 3-4 end. Hell Devin Taylor at USCe is a solid 6-8 and plays in a 4-3 which one would think calls for a more nimble and athletic guy.

OK? Didn't know Damon Webb and Malik McDowell were the same person.

I was referencing the fact that we has a small chance to land him as well.

Most recruiting analyst and sources close to him were absolutely shocked he committed to OSU when he did. People thought he had Michigan way out in front. Similar to the Lawrence Marshall situation, but Damon Webb has stayed solid.

lol Tuitt's FR year was impacted by Mono and being left off travel squad for being late to class. Big jump from FR to SO year. Could easily see McDowell having the same numbers as Tuitt did his FR year. McDowell has a half inch/inch on height, not much. A lot of analyst were saying Tuitt's future might be on OL too.

Because there is no point. I've seen your posting patterns on this board and you are extremely set in your ways. How about this, why won't McDowell be able to match Tuitt's production as a freshman?

Dude said in a radio interview he was an OSU fan.... essentially this is a wide open race, could end up anywhere.

  • Where is this ND #1, Michigan #2 coming from? I never saw him name ND his leader. If he did someone please link the article. That's all coming from speculation IMO. From what I've gathered, he's got Mich and ND neck and neck at the top, with OSU trailing marginally behind. Nothing OSU can't make up in time though. Before his recruitment blew up it was widely reported he was a strong Michigan fan growing up and always wanted to play for Mich. Now that recruiting interviews started, he answers to please the respective fanbases as all recruits do, and people are taking some of his comments way too out of line.

I think it's 50/50 ND/Mich at this point. Grew up a Michigan fan, loves ND's defensive scheme.

In his videos from last summer he was wearing Michigan gear.

He also loves NDs graduation rate of African American players.

Not gonna lie, that's a REALLY handy card for us to have. I think the 80s and 90s were about money and the league but now even the top end kids are starting to make business decisions about their futures.

I know an insider who does not believe this whatsoever. Several of them as a matter of fact. One or two insiders thinking ND has the slight lead does not make them his leader.

  • In keeping in regular touch with Malik and his family and coach, I think ND and Michigan have established themselves as the top two. The ND education and grad rate blew away Malik and his fam. He also likes several things about Michigan including Brady Hoke being a d-line guy.

Malik has not visited OSU yet. MSU still in the mix. He wants to visit some SEC schools this summer.

I think that conclusion would hold water if Hood had already committed and de-committed from a school. And moved the schools he's already visited up his list. Notre Dame has been the #1 school for most of his process, so by him reaffirming Notre Dame was #1 yesterday morning then Michigan possibly taking the #1 spot is huge. He also said he wants to sit on it for a few days.

If he is waiting a few days to decide then that a little like some lip service to the fans to say he wants to put you at #1....
