  • Please proofread. I expect ESPN to do this, but not 247.

    Truitt = Tuitt

  • So Bama has participated in 5 of the last 7 1 vs. 2 matchups (6 of 8 counting tonight's game). And quite a few of the players currently on the team participated in most of them.

    Good catch, thanks for pointing that out. I fixed it.

  • I do think Notre Dame has a good enough team to win this game. The Irish will have to play a super game with few turnovers, penalties or mistakes, though.

    I am haunted by the end of that Georgia game with Lacy and Yeldon ripping off runs of 7, 8 yards a clip. That was awe inspiring what they did against a pretty rugged Georgia team.

    Gonna be a fun game, though.

  • UGA would beat ND by 10, we will win by 14

  • Some more stuff I wanted to throw in there:

    * Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com says Alabama, as a 9-1/2 point favorite, is the third-biggest fave in the BCS era in a title game. Miami was a 12-point fave over Ohio State in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl and FSU was an 11-point fave over Oklahoma in the 2001 game. Both of those double-digit favorites lost.

    Pointspread favorites are 7-7 in the title game.

    * And Notre Dame is the first team that was unranked in the preseason AP poll to reach the title game. (ND was 26th in the AP voting and ranked 24th in the USA Today coaches poll in the preseason.)

    Auburn, ranked 22nd in the 2010 preseason AP poll, was previously the lowest ranked team to win the game. The Tigers won that title. Oklahoma was 19th in the 2000 preseason poll before going on to win the title.
