Hey LOS. How was your holidays?

Honestly my Christmas sucked. My husband came down with shingles two days before Christmas so my family and his ended up having dinner somewhere else and we were home alone. I met my family the day after Christmas for lunch and ended up getting an expensive coffee machine and a pie maker......I hate coffee and most pies. My daughter however racked up.
How was the holidays for you and the wife-to-be?

This year was a bad one for me, but my daughter racked up. She got her eight gifts for Hanukkah from my ex plus all her Hanukkah gifts from the family, Christmas gifts from me, my family, and my husband's family, and now she is back at her father's for a few days getting Christmas gifts from her stepmother and her family. It's ridiculous how many gifts she gets in the month of December.

Yikes, that sucks. There's been a big push in the medical industry lately about the shingles vaccine. We're not required to get it, but it's offered to all employees. How is he feeling now?

He is still hurting but it seems to be progressing a lot quicker then the doctor originally said it would. He was in some serious pain Christmas Eve so much so that he woke up at 6 in the morning to start doing shots of vodka because the Lortabs that he was prescribed were not doing much to dull the pain (and he really has a high tolerance for pain). The crazy thing is that before he got shingles I really had not heard too much about them. After he got them, we found out that pretty much everyone we know has had a family member/ close friend that has had them - and most of them are not older people or have a compromised immune system. After watching my husband and all the pain he has endured, I am thinking about getting vaccinated myself. It's been difficult.
