    I was just referencing the other top traffic site as a general consideration; I seem to remember a threat on tBB from a 'Bama guy asking people to stop trolling them. Figured there may be more support for this than just on the MSU side of things.

    Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

    I would also suggest waving the fee if someone is signing up for VIP.

    I think that would go without saying. . . but it helps to say it lol (post-lunch food coma, forgive the incoherant-ness).

    If someone really wants to go through the trouble of giving the site $5 to troll, only to be banned after 3 posts, and pay another $5 . . . so be it.

    I think it would deter some from creating a troll account.

    At the very least if they create a troll account and it gets banned they have to start a new account and pay $5 again.

    $5 is nothing to our more dedicated trolls. They would probably get even more out of it knowing there was a price to being such a troll.

    I would 100% be in favor of this.

    It would help get rid of our spam problem.

    That could be solved by requiring a certain number of posts (like 10 or so) on a "Newbie Board" before being allowed to post anywhere else on the site. This would make the spammers work more difficult.

  • It certainly would deter the spammers on here but a lot of posters come to these message board to pay nothing. There are numerous posters that are underage and probably don't have a credit card.

    I don't even remember banning a MSU poster in a while.

    Usually the only time I do is when one of you come over dropping the f-bomb.

    I don't know what will come of it, but I think the discussion is worth having. It'd be a bar to invasions from Rivals, etc. and probably weed out some of the fringe elements.

    On the flip side, that's obviously going to be a barrier to overall network traffic.

    It will never happen...I heard JC on the radio this morning advertising the 247 messages boards being free. It is something that 247 is proud of and they won't be changing it anytime soon.
