No. In 2010 you lost because Denard smoked your ass with the longest run from scrimmage ever in ND Stadium and a game winning drive you couldn't stop. Last year, you lost because your "elite" secondary couldn't defend his passes in the 4th quarter. Your hearts were ripped out both times by Denard.

So the turnovers only play a part when Mich has them? w/jw. Three turnovers by ND in 2010 and Mich still had to score with :27 to take the lead. Five turnover by ND and Mich still had to score to take the lead in the final seconds last year.

Nearly every game has TOs. We had TOs too. The difference was Denard's ability to overcome his TOs. In last year's game, in particular, we scored two TDs in the last minute and a half. Those TDs had nothing to do with TOs. They were pure Denard.

So, Michigan loses and it's because they have too many turnovers. ND has a bunch of turnovers and it's just Denard being superman. I seem to recall when this super hero first started to play, he wasn't doing so hot. Everett Golson will be better than Denard at the QB position. How you can consider our 2011 secondary elite is absurd. Reading what you guys have said about Golson, our secondary (2011) and just how much UM seems to have dominated ND these past few years, makes me wonder if you guys really know what the hell you are talking about. no

Denard set NCAA records in his first year as a starter. And his best stats, rushing and passing, were in his first year as a starter. He is now trying to adapt to a system that doesn't really fit him, yet he won 11 games last year and will probably win 9-10 this year. Something tells me Golson won't be breaking any NCAA records this year. In fact, something tells me he's very unlikely to break any ever.

Well he would not have had the chance if Rees would not have dropped the ball out of the back of his hand first and goal at the MIch 7 with 6 minutes left in the game . Your hypocrisy is laughable. I guess that TO didn't matter in your eyes..

..or how about Cierre Woods fumble on 1 and 10 from the Mich 30 in the 3rd quarter?

...or how about the Rees int when ND had 1st and 10 at the Mich 18 in the 2nd quarter?

ND had those critical turnovers last year and still led the whole game. Mich had turnover last week...and never led in the game. They were already losing when they had their first turnover.

UM lost the game because of poor decisions that resulted in excessive turnovers. If we take care of the ball, we win the game easily.

    UM Turnover Margin v. ND
    2012 UM -4 (Loss)
    2011 UM +2 (Win)
    2010 UM +3 (Win)
    2009 UM +0 (Win)
    2008 UM -4 (Loss)
    2007 UM +2 (Win)
    2006 UM +4 (Win)

MIch had 1 turnover the second half last week and managed a whopping 2 field goals...but yet according to you without the turnover "they would have won easily".

I've had better conversations with my dog. These guys are clueless. Yeah, he broke records. Did you win a national championship? Oh, sorry. You play to win championships.

Interesting response to a comment about your QB who got yanked early on and essentially has little to do with your overwhelming offensive display. 13-6 despite getting SIX turnovers.

Well maybe if Denard got yanked early we would not have all these Mich fans on here crying that the only reason they lost was the 6 turnovers. BTW, when Golson went out, ND was winning...

  • So, do we draw the line at 5 TOs? 5 or less TO then it's still an earned win, 6 or more you handed over the win? You M fans are ridiculous. Man up and take the loss. Maybe your coach should have done the right thing and benched a QB with 5 TO. He can't throw, and he wasn't running much that night.

Well one of Denard's pick was simply throwing it up from his own 35 right before halftime. That is different from the rest of the time he is simply throwing it up. biggrin

ND fans were the same exact way, if not worse, the past few years. Don't try and act like your fanbase don't do the same thing.

The reason I said that was because you guys win 3 games by 4 points in the last :27. Even with our TOs. Yet UM owns ND? We win by 10 and excuses out the a** from you guys. Man up and take the loss.

You guys lose four in a row, then finally get a win and you act like you own us. I still hear nothing but excuses from you guys. How about you direct that to your own fanbase first, man up and take those losses.

I admit we lost the game, but I couldn't care less. Losing to ND does not affect our season goal of a B1G championship.

Three is a row, ND won 35-17 in 2008. You must be confusing it with your losing streak to MSU which sits at four in a row.
I am sure there were ND fans making the same claims the last 2 years that UM fans are in this thread. Does that make it any better?

I honestly don't care about the entire argument, I just thought it was hilarious that he would post something like that, knowing full well that his own fanbase is one of the worst offenders in the excuse department.

And yes, some of the biggest excuse makers in the past few years are leading the charge. Laughable.

The same posts that ND fans have been making for years?

    Those ones?

Every single fanbase will make excuses or spin why they lost, every single one (I don't care if they are Indiana fans). It is always going to happen. To try and paint it off as only one fanbase is doing it (as evident by "You M fans are ridiculous") is just absolutely laughable.

While this is true, some fanbases are just a lot more obnoxious and delusional about it.

I don't recall makingxcuses, so I hope you aren't directing that towards me. I know we lost, and why we lost. Nothing I can do about that. I know some people talk excuses, but that can be turned around, too.

When I stated "You M fans are ridiculous", it wasn't meant as a blanket statement on the entire fanbase. Was meant towards the UM fans on here saying ND shouldn't have one, and it was only because of 6 TO. It could be said for both teams. We had 5 last year. Your team lost, no matter how it happened.
