Deloss Dodd scared of the SEC

  • When TAMU absolutely get their teeth kicked in by Bama and LSU and they find out they still have two daddies, their names just changed, shit like this will trail off.

No I never was, I got into the school that I love. I grew up around College Station, went to all the games and sporting events. Life took me a different direction, and then to the Marine Corps. I am and always have been an Aggie. Deal with it.

I'm sure a lot of Texas "t-shirt" fans have similar stories and life took them a different direction, yet you shit on them every chance you get. That makes you a hypocrite...and you are still a t-shirt fan. Deal with it.

We were coming off a national championship appearance at the time this whole realignment mess started. Consider your 'argument' shit on.

So the last two years haven't been considered "struggling"??? It's the worst y'all have been since before Mack. And when you played an SEC team in the NC game, your "number one ranked defense" gave up 100+ yards on the ground to TWO different guys. And don't give me the "if colt would've played crap". We were fresh off holding Tebow (who was a much better college player than colt / Florida was a better team than Texas) to 13 points. And y'all only scored 10/12/13 (I forgot the exact score) against Nebraska who was the only other legit D y'all played. You weren't winning that game regardless.

Colt would have walked up and down the field on that vaunted (and by vaunted I mean overrated D) and we would have been ahead by 14 to start with! Colt would have scored from the two and after that genius fake punt!

I realize I'll get flamed cuz there is no way to prove it but we owned you till colt got hurt, then our shittiest QB in forever "gilbert" had us to within 3 points with 2 or 3 minutes left. So eff off with that wholier than thou SEC BS

Florida beat OU by ten points don't even get me started on how much of a rip off that was that Blow U went ahead of a Texas team that beat them "BY 10 POINTS"

Talk all that shit but you will always know that you were sitting in your hillbilly alabama shack about to cry when garret freaking gilbert led a comeback on that ass, and everyone knows in that first quarter the colective of alabama faithful were saying "oh shit" when colt walked it down the field on yall.

Lol wow. Yes, we've struggled the past 2 years but that's not the point you dolt. Your argument that Texas is somehow scared of the SEC because we've struggled the past 2 years, is a fallacy. Realignment started after the 2009 season, a season in which we were coming off an appearance in the national championship game. Hardly what I would call struggling, and yet sure enough Texas' higher ups wanted nothing to do with the SEC. I suppose DD could've looked into his crystal ball and figured "well shit, we're gonna suck balls the next 2 years" we can't go to the SEC. I mean that seems plausible. And while we're here, the SEC reached out to Texas back in 95' as well, after the SWC fell apart. Texas, coming off a 10-2 season, in a time when the SEC was very mehh, told the SEC thanks for no thanks. I suppose our "struggles" contributed to that decision as well?

Your argument has just been shit on x2. Good day.

He ran down the field on us? Please. He completed two passes - a screen and a quick slant. It's not as though he shredded the secondary or anything, he got quick and easy confidence building completions that any OC starts out with. And if you don't think we let off the gas during Gilbert's "comeback", you're insane. That's been Saban's only documented flaw. He gets very conservative with a lead. Whatever, you're entitled to your opinion but you can't explain away our game vs Florida or your game vs nebraska. You're welcome to try (since you ignored that part of my post the first time).

  • Also, you guys couldn't have beaten OU that year if Bradford hadn't gotten hurt. So even if you remain convinced that Texas was somehow the better team, you have no room to talk. Not to mention Bradford actually accomplished something before getting hurt (unlike Colt). I'm pretty sure he had thrown for 80+ yards and either led them to a score or had them in the red zone. I'm on mobile so I don't want to look it up, but whatever it was it was more than a screen and a quick slant.

Stop using that Nebraska game as justification that you would have won. They were an elite pass rushing team led by Ndlfksjdflskjfdkf Suh. You had no elite pass rushers. They were in the backfield on almost every play and put up 9 sacks on us. You got next to no pressure and only got 1 sack against us. They were a legit defense. You were not.

Did you even watch the damn game? You went 3 and out with an interception by Blake Gideon at your 32 on your first posession. Colt takes us down to the 11 before getting injured. If he's in, we likely score a TD. We then recover an onsides kick at your 30. If Colt is in, and playcalling doesn't go ultra conservative, we likely score another TD. It's possible it's 14-0 at that point. You have to punt yet again. At this point, you've dropped back to pass 5 times and been sacked 3 times. If Colt doesn't get injured, it's likely a blowout. You couldn't pass and rushing wouldn't have kept you in the game.

Just be happy you got lucky and accidentally won the game on the 5 turnovers that an inexperienced freshman had after our Heisman finalist QB went down early in the 1st quarter.

Wow. You're such an idiot. So a fake punt gone awry for us and you guys getting to the 11 on your first possession equals blowout win? You keep dismissing the run game but Texas had (statistically) a top 5 rushing defense that year but got scorched on the ground. How does having Colt McCoy change that?

As far as elite pash rushers, we run a system that doesn't focus on one guy like Suh. Our 3-4 had a great anchor in Cody, an edge guy in Dareus, and great linebackers. But I'm not going to waste the time arguing that. Ok so you don't count the Nebraska game. Why does the Florida game not count? Were they not a good team that year? Was Tebow not one of the all time greats at QB? Completely shutting them down doesn't apply at all?

You're blinded by your bias and holding on to your what if to make yourself feel better. Your only empirical evidence is a slant and a screen. That's literally the basis for your argument and it's pathetic.

I never dismissed the running game. I said just being able to run the ball wouldn't have kept you in the game. It was obvious you couldn't pass the ball (3 sacks in your first 5 attempts.)

I don't care what system you used. As evidenced by the game, you weren't able to put much pressure on the QB. Nebraska, on the other hand, was able to put ample pressure on the QB. Texas struggling against Nebraska proves nothing when the contributing factors weren't present in our game.

McCoy showed time and time again that he was able to light teams up when he didn't have to worry about a pass rush. That is why I think he would have done extremely well, not 2 plays.

What the hell does your game against Florida have to do with anything? Different personnel, different schemes, different coaches.

Are you going to read this post? Or are you going to skim it, like you did my last post, and then repeat the same irrelevant crap?

You still seem to be extremely insecure about your accidental win. Otherwise, you wouldn't have spazzed out when a Texas fan simply mentioned that we played in the game.

Well I live in Texas so I'm surrounded by it, which is why it touches a nerve. As to our lack of a passing game, McElroy had broken ribs but still played. I rarely bring up that point because I think it's almost as lame as the Colt getting hurt excuse, but there it is. No one is saying Greg is McCoy, but it certainly did hinder our passing game. Greg tore it up against a great Florida defense, and he was not special but was capable of executing well with time to prepare. Adding that dimension to our offense would have even further improved the run game. But since neither teams' previous games count for anything in your eyes (except when it's McCoy doing well against a weak pass rush), I guess we're left with a 0-0 tie, Texas ball on the 11 yard line.

Texas with Colt would have destroyed Alabama. And Texas with any sort of offense (sucks not having a backup QB), would have shut down that anemic Alabama offense. You don't think it could happen because you are an LSU fan. LSU couldn't score 14 points on Bama if the game had 8 quarters.

Keep dreaming man. Look on the bright side, you can always cling to your "what if". Unfortunately for you, the crystal resides in Tuscaloosa. If not for Vince young, your most recent national title would be 1970. You're like auburn with Cam. Isn't that sad.
