  • Dude's a beast, and obviously ESPN's Todd McShay agrees. He's tied for the #5 Wide Receiver prospect in college. Dude has some good hands.

    He's one of the most dangerous players in CFB with the ball in his hands. He'll play a role similar to Randall Cobb in the NFL. Why are you so concerned about it?

    He is probably the most overrated, overhyped player in all of college football. He does well against the bad or mediocre team, but he does little or nothing against the good teams. Of course, the Big 10 is full of mediocre or bad teams

    That's at QB the most overanalyzed position in sports. As an athlete(RB/WR) he's a legit pro prospect. He could play for any team in America as an athlete. I think he gets too much pub for being an average QB but there's no questioning his pure natural ability as an athlete and with the ball. He'll get drafted and probably by round 3.

    I like Hoke, but he's letting Borges take too much control, IMO. Borges is a great OC, but he isn't a guy whose offense is suited to Denard. Borges is stubborn and had these issues at Auburn at times as well.

    Yeah, I agree. It's just something we'll have to live with until Borges gets more of his style of players. I'm not a fan of it, but he just doesn't work well without his guys.

    And I'm not really sure what the point of the OP is. Yeah, Denard isn't a good QB. He obviously won't be going pro as a QB. Everyone and their grandmothers know this. He'll be a very dangerous slot receiver and kick returner in the NFL. That's undeniable.

    This, Borges is really getting on my nerves with his playcalling, but he isn't a bad OC. He just isn't as adaptable as he should be.

    This. He's been misused this entire season, but is by no means a good QB. Great athlete though.

  • I disagree with the Borges criticism. You can't teach one offense to everybody, then run something different on game day. They are trying to lay the foundation for what they want to do in the future. Denard doesn't throw well on the run, and he's made some bad decisions on read options this year especially against Bama. Really what do you want Borges to do? UM's been in position to make plays and they haven't executed.

    Perhaps, but if Borges is supposed to be a West Coast guy, and he has been teaching that for a while, why doesn't he utilize that more? It seems like both Denard and Borges have a tendency to try to throw it downfield more.

    I think the op is making fun of the fact Todd McShay has Denard as the #5 receiver in the draft even though no one has really seen him catch the ball or run routes.

    I have to agree that it's a bit ridiculous to have him #5. There's a lot more to playing receiver in the NFL than just being explosive.

    They have to put him somewhere. He's a 2nd-3rd round athlete.
