    I see 6-3 with 3 questions. They should lose to TN and AU, but think the Missouri game is a toss-up. I figure they win 1 of those 3. So 7-5 and a crappy bowl game. That's pretty fantastic for Vandy.

    I don't see Vandy going on the road and beating Northwestern....

    So Bray and Hunter are both getting injuried again? So UT will be relying on a bunch of sophomores rather than juniors and seniors again? Hrmmmmmmmmm

    You guys have your head's buried in the sand. Do you honestly believe you will be even a halfway decent team this season? You can't win if you can't run the ball in the SEC.

    We haven't proven that we can't, with this team. Nobody will know how good of a team we are until after this season is over, and the same goes for all teams.

    I'm just willing to bet that the odds of us going 8-4 are better than not with all of the skill position talent we have lined up. You don't have to know football very well to know that three wide receivers with heights of at least 6-4 and speed in the 4.4 range are not going to present a problem for any defense. Pass protect is exactly what the o-line was already good at anyway.

    With everyone healthy I think this team could very much resemble a Florida team of the Nineties by passing to open up the run, thus producing wins, if your logic is valid.

    I do very much agree that you need a rushing attack of some sort to win football games in the SEC, FWIW.

  • we actually should be pretty good this year : one of the top QB's in SEC , the best WR's corp in the SEC ( JMO) , everybody is back on the OL w/ new OL coach which was badly needed , TE returns for his SR season , great threat and three new RB's with new RB coach in Jay Graham = should be one of the best OFF in SEC . DEF is different story as we are changing to the 3-4 and all new Def coaches but still lots of talent back from last year : DL is going to be really good w/ some good upside and decent depth ; LB's should be really good with the return of Def captain H Lathers and three returning starters , all are back in the DB except one starter and they should be better this year as we were really young in the DB last year - weak part of the team but building ... could surprise some folks this year but should be much better on OFF and hopefully more aggressive on Def ..shrug

  • Dooley was left in terrible shape... especially in the trenches. Last year the o line was littered with sophomores and one junior. The d line was vastly undersized as well. Malik Jackson was the best defensive line player, but was vastly undersized playing DT. You can't win in the SEC if you can't run or stop the run. Dooley has 26 juniors and 14 seniors on the team. Last year there may have been 10 scholarship seniors on the team... and most of them weren't big contributors to the team. That's going to make a huge difference this year if the team can stay healthy. Coach Graham was brought in to fix the running game. FTR... UT didn't have a running back coach last year(a GA was coaching that position). I just don't see a repeat of last year unless Dooley is that bad of a coach... I don't think he is, but we all shall see this year. The guy is way too meticulous to be that terrible.

  • I believe that we will be much improved this year, but if we catch a lot of bad breaks I don't know if we can keep it together with the lack of proven leadership qualities.

    I still think we will make a bowl game this year.

    yep..you guys remind me of bama 2005 before prothro went down...looks like a championship team at the first 22 but dangerously thin beyond that. we got lucky and started to run the table but the wheels fell off at the end

    Yes our depth scares me. We have some depth, but not all of it is quality. We are still building and hopefully we can catch some breaks this season and win some much needed games. If we win some key games that should help us in recruiting. The SEC east is not the same without UT and UF at the top.
