Desean Smith should be the best TE prospect in the nation

  • He is absolutely balling in the State Championship game right now. Some of the catches he's making are absolutely INSANE. Kid is very, very special.. I haven't seen a TE in high school make the type of catches he's been making tonight and all season like him in a very long time. This is absolutely unreal to watch.

    EDIT (disclaimer).. I'm not saying this as a fact because there's other guys I haven't watched for 2014 yet but Smith has to be up there..

    Staff, what are your thoughts? You should see this game he's having right now, it's not even fair

    Yeah I haven't watched many other 2014 TE prospects so I can't say this as a fact but Smith is up there with the best of them.. No doubt about that.

  • OJ Howard is a freak but he's a '13 class member. I think Tyler Lutuelie(obviously mispelled) from cali is the top '14 TE right now.

    Know this isn't about Dobard because Smith pisses on Dobard. Dobard is a good, solid prospect, don't get me wrong but he is a completely different type of TE and likely will be primarily a blocker at the next level. His hands are very suspect and he has issues keeping his weight under control.

  • His best play was againt West Monroe in the semifinal with the one handed palmed ball in the back of the endzone. Just a sick catch over a defender. I didnt see his catches tonight but I heard they were unreal.

    Yeah that 1-handed catch where he was barely out of bounds was NASTY... Then the TD to get them within 1 TD in the same game was incredible. Dude has SERIOUS hands

    Williams and TE aren't top 2 in LA, especially if you're talking beyond 2013..kid from Shreveport is best player in 2013 class.

  • Yeah I think Dobard may be the 3rd or 4th best TE in LA this year .... might be even lower is your count Jacory Washington for 2014. Dobard is a good player but hes not on the same level as Smith.
