Details of Lattimore's knee injury (from press conference)

  • Spurrier spoke first, introducing Guy, who detailed Lattimore’s injury. There were positives and negatives but the good news certainly outweighed the bad. Three ligaments were torn in Lattimore’s right knee, which was injured on October 27 against Tennessee, including the ACL.

The good news, though, was that all of the nerves and blood vessels stayed intact. There were no broken bones and Guy was able to repair all of the ligaments. Only the ACL had to be rebuilt. Had there been damage to the nerves or blood vessels, the outlook may not be as rosy for Lattimore, who, doctors say, will need 12 to 15 months to fully recover and return to the field.

“His surgery went great. He’s done absolutely perfect the last four to five weeks,” Guy said. “He’s closing in on six weeks, started walking. We’ve spent a lot of time trying to hold him back. I examined his knee, gave him a full exam last week, and it details great. All of his ligaments are doing perfect and he’s perfectly on course.”

Guy added that there are no plans to have another surgery as his knee is “doing perfectly fine.”

Before anyone doubts the reports. It was announced yesterday at his press conference to turn pro. Our team doctor detailed his injuries. Based on the fact that Lattimore said yesterday that NFL teams told him they would examine his knee before drafting, I believe the info to be correct and not "sugar coated".

  • He'll be drafted no earlier than the 3-4th round. Sucks for him because he was a sure 1st rounder. Hope his knee holds up in the NFL long enough to get a big money deal down the line.

  • Similar experience to McGahee and he turned out alright.

  • So much for all the idiots that said the femur was broken, the arteries were ruptured, all ligaments were torn, he would never walk again, his life was in danger, etc, etc

Some people are just drama queens.

That would go against what he is being told. He's being told 2 or 3rd at the latest. But you saw the video of the hit, so you probably know more than the NFL team reps advising him.

Sorry for taking this out on just you, but I just hate reading/hearing people who say he won't get drafted until this round or he won't be drafted at all because "I saw the video and there is no way otherwise." His doctors and advisors know much more and they all sound more optimistic.
