Did Hannity offer to pay Zimmerman's legal fees?

Fox News Denies Sean Hannity Offered To Pay For George Zimmerman's Legal Fees (DETAILS) | Global Grind

Earlier today, GlobalGrinds Editor-In-Chief Michael Skolnik broke the story that Fox News Host Sean Hannity offered to pay for the legal defense fund for George Zimmerman, the man accused of shooting and killing unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin on February 26th.EXCLUSIVE: SHOCKING REVELATION!

  • Here's the way I look at it: it's certainly possible - it's not like Hannity's really going to lose viewers if he does pay for Zimmerman's defense. Also, what incentive does Zimmerman have to lie? On the other hand, this is exactly they type of scoop a left-leaning news source would kill to break, and extrapolating Sean Hannity from "SH" is a bit of a stretch.

It could go either way, we just don't have enough information yet.

I guess when you look at the fact that zimmerman has personal phone calls with hannity all the time and is actually doing an interview on hannity's show soon... How does he build this relationship with hannity?

Zimmerman said that he had to keep the SH info private because it would cause a media firestorm.

    ReasonableDoubt

  • Really, it's hannity's money and he's free to sport whomever he wants...if he is sh

  • I don't have a problem with it, if true. Everyone has the right to a fair trial. Innocent until proven guilty. All that.

I'm not completely against it, although it looks bad when the media gets personally involved in a story.

If he drops 100k on zimmerman's defense, can u say that he will present the case in a fair and balanced manner? Media should report the news, not influence the news.

Or he has an agenda. No way he could have been sure about anything when that payment was offered.

He would love to blame this while thing on the liberal media. Then he would definitely get zimmerman on his show to continue his rant against liberal, racist media

Nothing at all wrong with seeking the truth. But it's hard to be impartial in reporting when you've put money on one side.

  • I have no problem with Hannity supported Zimmerman, but he should recuse himself from reporting on the story if true. He can hardly be unbiased.

  • Zimmerman is an idiot. Said he wouldn't have done anyone differently. Really? Also said it was all part of god's plan.

    VTSmitty

  • Apparently Martin is a ninja too. Zimmerman said that he reached for his phone and Martin came out of nowhere and punched him in the nose before he could look up.

He also said that he never pursued Martin. He only left the vehicle to get an address. But if you're so scared, can't you drive to find the address? Why go off into the dark to get an address? Wouldn't it actually be quicker to drive to a street sign?

It's the small things that will get him convicted.

The "wouldn't have done anything differently" comment still gets me. Umm.....How about would have gone to a movie instead, or stayed home, or stayed in car. He is pretty much saying that Trayvon needed to die, and he's glad he was there to help. I understand not wanting to incriminate himself, but implying that a series of events resulting in someone's death worked out the right way, is pretty damn stupid.

Hannity is a television/radio personality. He is not a journalist nor a member of the broadcast news media per se. He does not report the news. He is considered a political commentator - a spin meister ... a talking head.

Hannity is not unbiased any more so than Maddow, Harris, Van Susteren, O'Reilly, Matthews, or O'Donnell.

His job, as are those of other political commentators, is to provide entertaining, anecdotal commentary of news stories based upon opinion. None of these personalities could do what they do without a bias perspective.
