Did anybody hear Baccari Rambo's statement

  • I am listening to ESPN and they just played a tape of him saying Georgia was better than Alabama at every position, especially on defense

    aubie25

  • Read the full report Dbag! He was baited into that question.

Rambo isnt too good at tackling running backs. Bama just needs to give it to Lacy and Yeldon

  • On defense, its pretty much true.

8-9 guys slated to be drafted next year alone. 3 1st rounders and 3 2nd/3rd rounders.

    NT - UGA
    DE#1 - push
    DE#2 - push
    SOLB - push
    WOLB - UGA
    ILB#1 - UGA
    ILB#2 - Bama
    CB#1 - Bama
    CB#2 - UGA
    SS - UGA
    FS - UGA

  • "I feel like we're more talented (than Alabama). We have better players at each position, across the board, especially on defense. It's going to be a great challenge for us. I know it's going to be a battle. It's going to come down to who has the best defense and who makes more turnovers. It's going to be a battle of the defenses." - Baccari Rambo

    -------------

OK, in all fairness, what no one is mentioning is that the radio host steered Rambo into that answer, asking how UGA matches up against an Alabama team that "some say you're more talented than." Rambo then just kind of agreed with him. He probably shouldn't have done that, but if you actually listen to the way he said it, it really doesn't come off like deliberate smack-talking.

But games like the one Georgia is about to play tend to take on a Super Bowl feel from the standpoint of media, (especially in a current media climate where so many sites don't actually cover the team and just need the red meat of a sound byte). Anyway, everything everyone says will be magnified about a thousand times this week. -

  • I ;ove it. My only fear is that we aren't as motivated and aren't focused. Any material we can use as motivation is fine by me.

I'll be sure and tell him that some dude on a message board told him to prepare for the beating coming his way.

I'm quite sure it will have an adverse effect on his game prep.

I love the idea that you can be "steered" into saying "we're better at every single position".

I love the idea that you can't read well enough to understand the answer to a loaded question.

With all that talent, I would expect to see UGA ranked a little higher than middle of the pack in defense for some reason.

    lol

Of course, maybe coaching is the problem. shrug

    Richt's gonna show his muscle.

We'll see who is the better coach.

  • Sorry, UGA fans. A freshman who is not used to dealing with the media might get tricked. A senior who has dealt with the media for 4 or 5 years should know better

And he has the trophy case to prove it.....oh wait, it's empty isn't it?

  • Glad Richt finally got off the hot seat, this way we don't have to worry about UGA winning championships

So there was simply no other response but to remain silent? He couldn't have just said "we match up well with them" or something? Here's hoping Georgia media keeps tricking morons like Bacardi into more locker room material.

You can respond however you choose. I simply pointed out the context of his answer.

I guess he could have said a lot of things. I'm sure the moron knows the difference between Bacardi and Baccari. Or was that a Freudian slip?

If Alabama needs locker room material to get up for this game, nothing Rambo said is going to help.

That's why ESPN's Scout32 has has 3 UGA defensive players in top 17, and only 1 Bama defender in top 32.

No idea about Scout, but depending on where you look, we have two players on defense projected in the first round. 3 if Jesse Williams goes early. That does not include guys like Robert Lester who were fringe candidates for 1st round picks before the year. He will now probably now go in the 3rd along with Nico. Defense:

    CB Milliner- 1st
LB Mosley- 1st (might still come back believe it or not. More than a few people are saying he has already told the coaches he is.)
    NG/DT Jesse Williams- 2nd
    FS Robert Lester- 3rd
    LB Nico Johnson- 3rd
    DE Damion Square- 4th, 5th, or 6th

Everyone else in the three deep should be coming back next season except for backup DE Quinton Dial who could get drafted late.

Don't think he was tricked. He realized after the a&m game that your team isn't as good as you believe or the media believes they are.
