No idea why people don't pay extra for fast passes. I almost felt guilty passing by hundreds of people on rides where I'd wait 5 min and they'd wait a hour but that guilty feeling went away pretty quickly because anyone has that option and chose wrongly.

Unless something has changed... haven't been in 2 years. Fast Passes aren't for sale. You get them on a 1st come 1st serve basis when you get to the ride line. You go to space mtn, get a fast pass and it states to come back between 11-12. You go do other things and come back. Also, you can only hold 1 at a time.

  • i live in orlando... and somebody mentioned it florida weather is just random. last week for thanksgiving we had 2 or 3 nights that got into the 40's and the high was under 65. the last 2 nights though felt like it was in the low 60's and we hid 80 yesterday and are supposed to today. As far as Epcot goes it all depends on the person but id say generally for kids its not that great a park. Its more for adults and couples to chill out and do and see stuff together. But ive always liked it even as a kid. and yes Fast passes are always a good idea specially during holiday seasons. unfortunelty i cant help you too much with the resorts since i live in Orlando i dont really go to them. The Wilderness lodge looks pretty sick and they have a pretty cool resturant where the servers yell and make fun of you the whole time. If you dont mind being 15 mins from Disney you can check out the Gaylord Palms hotel resort its almost a them part in itself (minus the rides of course).

Is Orlando cold during the winter months? Also, Should I get tickets to the Epcot theme park or just Disney world? Finally, what is a great resort that is not chezzy. I am looking at early January as a time frame for going.

are you taking kids? If not, you can fly to Rome or Rio or somewhere on a tropical island for what you'll spend for a week at disney. srs.

Correct, was there last week. Fast passes are free and can only have a max of 2 at one time. Just have to plan ahead of when to go back to the rides and grab a new fast pass after one has been burned

They are a must, got in a line that was about 90min, some guy had to leave and gave me his passes. Line took 10--15 min..

Gaylord Palms is a sick hotel. My aunt lives near there. They do like an indoor snow thing. Its pretty cool

Illuminations, Soaring, Innovations, the Country Walk (Especially the Wine Tasting), Nemo says otherwise ...

No it doesn't. They are ok, but they were put in Epcot specifically because it sucks. All of those attractions don't "fit" into the Epcot theme.

The fact that they had to come up with the booze tour to keep people coming says everything.

  • Although I don't agree with alot of your postings, we've been twice, and used the same travel person. she plans it all out, based on what you want to do, answers questions, and finds you all the deals. she even will set up your schedule so you can get to the best attractions/rides at the right time.

for instance (and this isn't some big secret) if you are going to Animal kingdom, you want to be there early in the morning and go straight for the safari ride. after that, eat at Donald Ducks ( great breakfast).

again, PM me if you want her info, again, we've done a week long trip twice, and used her both times.

    each place some something cool.
Epcot - as an "adult" you can do "around the world", going to each culture around the lake and get a "drink" from each. we weren't able to do this, due to having the kids, but it's something people do to spice up Epcot. course i loved "Soaring", one of my favorite rides. night time is a great place to see the fireworks there, they ahve a great show on the lake.

again, the girl we use can tell you all that stuff.

    have fun.

  • To OP, are you taking kids? If so, what ages? I have stayed in most of the resorts at Disney. If no kids, or older kids, Grande Floridian is the best. Depending on the ages of the kids, the resort you want will change. If you have early teen kids, the Yacht and Beach Club is great. They have all night Pizzaria and Arcade, as well as awesome pools. Younger kids would probably want some thing else. If you get a chance, you might want to eat at Victoria and Alberts. Not sure now, but they used to be 1 of only 2 5 star restaurants in Florida. Other was in Miami.

BTW, I love Epcot. I love the food. You should check out Mexico if you pass by. They restaurant is in the middle of a bazaar at the edge of an active volcano.

Some of the resorts have monorail access, some do not. One trick I use. Instead of paying for parking at the park (when I am not staying at a Disney resort) is to park in the free parking at a Disney hotel, then use the monorail to go to the park.
