I'm still pretty new to this whole Atlanta thing (moved to Duluth back in October) so y'all should fill me in on political things in the area I should read up on, for upcoming votes and what not. I seriously have no idea what's going on around here, other than apparently I'm supposed to be ecstatic I ended up in Gwinnett and not DeKalb.

This is the new America - up here in PA elementary students spend half the year studying to pass a test that is used to measure staff retention and state grant allocations.

There have been stories of black market test samples being bought and the kids memorize the questions and answers to achieve passing scores

Teachers are just teaching the test instead of developing students potential

They stopped teaching: Geography, Health, World Cultures, Art, Industrial Arts, Gym is down to once a week - all to focus on the test.

I'm less than a minute from Johns Creek, 5 minutes from Norcross, 10 from Dunwoody, and around 20-30 from Midtown. No complaints.
