Do you like hot dogs?

If so, how do you take them? For me: chili, onions, cole slaw and a little bit of mustard is okay (but not required). My favorite place to get a good wiener in the upstate is either the Clock or Skins.

Like them the same way without the cole slaw...Try Boots n Sonny's or Rick's in Spartanburg.
Also, "favorite place to get a good wiener" is quite an attention-grabber

Nothing beats a coney dog from Lafayette Coney in Detroit. Mmmmm

A lot of my family has moved away from the Upstate. When they are back in town for holidays and such, they make a huge deal about going to the Clock or Pete's. They will eat there every day they are in town!

My favorite is the Ballpark Franks with ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, cheese and chili.

Depends on the place, the dog, the occasion. For an everyday dog, gimme chili, mustard, and relish. If slaw is good, i'll sub it for relish. If in chicago, i eat a chicago dog. If in Germany, I'll eat a bratwurst. When in rome...
Someone mentioned Boot's and Sunnys and Ricks above. Best hot dog in Spartanburg is either Nu Way or Walt Holmes (out by westgate mall). Ike's also has a very, very good dog, but there burgers are so damn good, it's tough not to get that.
Columbia, SC has a few good dogs around.

It always worries me when a product is allowed a percentage of unspecified ingredients. This is why if I eat a hot dog it has to be kosher.

Vienna Beef hot dogs out of Chicago....the small ones.
When I moved to San Antonio I called them to find out where I could get them here in town. There were only 3 places at the time.
As for how I like them.....sometimes just ketchup, sometimes chili, sometimes a slaw dog is good.
PS. Look for one of the signs below. If you see it, stop wherever you are and get one. Like I said, the little ones, I can't vouch for the larger, fatter ones or their sausage. (no homo)

Love them. Skins (upstate) and Sneaky Petes in Birmingham AL are pretty good. It's been a long time since I've been to Birmingham but I hope it's still there.

They are an acquired taste, I hated them when I first moved here but now I like them. On the original note I had a hotdog one time that had sour kraut, thousand island dressing and swiss cheese that was then topped with cole slaw. It was toe curling good. It was at a Nathans hot dog stand in Leesburg Florida.
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.

Edna's over near the old chastity's is very good. Jimmy's Hot Dog Mart on Two Notch is good. A new place called LuLu's opened beside the publick house, and it is not bad. The Other Store on Atascadero is solid as well. I've always enjoyed a Rush's dog, and Zesto's isn't bad either.
