Do you love or hate your job?

I'm 37 years old and finally got my dream career. It's outdoors, it's dangerous, and it pays very well. I have a smile on my face even on Monday mornings driving in. Far different from my previous job which put me into a borderline, clinically depressed state of mind (life insurance sales). This is what I do now....

    Wow! Be careful, bro!

I own a restaurant, so I'm in love. I don't like leaving it. I like being there 24/7... I love my wife and kid, but that place is my nirvana. I got some hotties working the bar and floor, too. Sorry, you're not getting pics. One is Columbian and the other is Polish behind the bar, but with thick accents, work hard, show up on time, very knowledgeable in beer and whiskey and have incredible personalities. True rock stars. My guys (no homo) are studs, too. I mean 2 of them could be models and they're strong as hell and take direction well. Women come there just to look at these two...Loyal to me to the bone and love what they do. I have great food, great clientele (I've cut off one person in 8 months) and great beers. One girl who works the floor models bikinis in NYC and another is a dancer there.

My boyz leave like this...biggrin btw, our outfits are black swoop tops and black yoga pants.

This is awesome. Congrats on your previous and continued success. I know that is a very tough industry. Now, how about just blurring out the faces of Miss Columbia and Miss Poland? Just sayin

Thanks man. Safety is far and away the #1 priority for my employer (DTE Energy). Tons of training and annual certifications. Most importantly "pole top rescue". If anything happens to one of us while on the pole and near any energized lines, it's us that go up, not any fire departments.

  • Don't love or hate. I love all the flexibility that I have to control own schedule as its in sales. At the same time no work means no money. I'm consistent so each month my account pays more and more and my Qtr bonuses are getting nice and keep growing. So there are a good amount of pros, but at the same time somedays I don't feel like talking with people. Could be worse for sure

I kinda agree with this^^^^ I love the industry that I work in which is trucking, Peterbilt dealer group specifically but I did not want to be back in management again so quickly when I changed industries last year. I grew up on the farm and was always around trucks so I grew up loving them. I love being part of something that America can't do with out and truly believe that Peterbilt is the best I just did not want back in management even though that is what I was trained to do and worked in for the last 15 years. On the flip side I did the same thing in the RV industry all those years and pretty much hated it the whole time so I will take what I got here, the only thing that would make it better would be to be self employed again.

My brother in law is a lineman and he loves it.

I start my career in December when I leave for the highway patrol academy. Really is a great gig, pay might not be through the roof but the benefits and retirement is worth it. I look forward to being able to go out on my own and work everyday.

Not to mention it opens doors to other law enforcement opportunitys or even politics.

Congrats man! I've got quite a few friends in various forms of law enforcement (ATF, DEA, Oakland county P, and Detroit PD) every one of them loves what they do. Good luck

  • I am a gold professional. I love my job other that dealing with extremely rich people who don't deserve it. Other than that, I love helping people improve and grow their passion. Helping people improve has an immediate satisfaction.
