Probably not a very popular choice here, but Michael Moore's "Roger & Me" is wonderful (and completely heartbreaking). It's about the decision of GM CEO Roger Smith to close several plants in Flint, Michigan. Thirty thousand people lost their jobs and it destroyed the city.

It was his downfall as a filmmaker imo
That was his home town and yeah he killed it but it brought him unwarranted fame ( he was close to that situation so he had a unique view and nailed it, outside of that he is just some fat dude from michigan )
After that he had the confidence to attack america and pretty much blew it, now he is hated by most and if im not mistaken his last few films have been bombs, especially in america

I have no problem with attacking some of the things that he argues against about America, especially the one about the fall of the economy, I just don't like that he takes such a leftist approach to his views and makes no effort to look at both sides of the argument. He's just way to Republicans are the devil and Democrats are the savior and all that is righteous.
I think both parties are fvcking idiots and you would think someone that claims to be a genius and tells people that constantly on film would see that.
