There's a documentary out there called 9/11 that was filmed while the guys were inside the towers during nearly the whole ordeal. Probably a lot of stuff you've never seen before. It's good.

No. It was made by some French brothers that were filming a documentary on a fire station that day. They filmed the first plane hitting the tower which I never saw on any news station.

I don't remember the name but HBO did a documentary about how dirty Auburn is... Definitely worth the watch!
Other than that I'd suggest Buena Vista Social Club - personal favorite.
Making of the Dark Side of the Moon
Eric Clapton documentary on his life long obsession with Robert Johnson
Not really a documentary but Boogie Nights is pretty close.

The guy that did Hoop Dreams also did one called Stevie. Its about a troubled rural kid that the director met through the big brothers organization. It's pretty good imo.
