Does Devin Gardner getting 1 more year help or hurt tOSU?

  • CMXI said...

Passed for 11 TDs and ran for 7 more in the 5 games he played last season. But yeah, he totally sucks on both fronts. Not to mention his 243.8 passing YPG as compared to Miller's 169.9 passing YPG.

Don't care. He sucks. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. You can make stats say whatever you want, but the eye test is the best.

Remember in 2007 when Todd Boeckman was killing it stat wise for tOSU? He sucked. I knew it. The only people who didn't were those wearing Scarlet glasses.

    Then the last 46 happened...

Oh, right. Sorry, I had forgotten that PSU has a football program.

Program gets decimated by sanctions and transfers - still finishes with 3 games ahead of MSU in conference thumbsup

  • Brax was B1G offensive player of the year & finished 5th on Heisman ballot. Not bad for a developing true sophomore.

Gardner hasn't accomplished squat after 4 years!

We're including his senior year of high school now too? OSU's evaluations of players is very unorthodox imo.

Considering Gardner entered Michigan behind a guy who was B1G offensive player of the year and finished 6th in the Heisman voting as a sophomore, I'll remind you of this comment in two years so I can tell you how terrible Cardale Jones and JT Barrett are.

No, cause your opinion sucks if you think Gardner is good at QB.

Miller's a solid runningback. Look at Gardner's stats for the last 5 games, he had success and didn't have practice at QB. With an offseason to improve, he'll be a solid QB.

Honestly I think Gardner will be above average for Michigan especially against the B1G but you shouldn't really use how well he did against teams like Minnesota, Iowa and Northwestern as a barometer on how well he could perform. Yea Northwestern can put points on the board but their defense was extremely suspect the whole year. The other games he played against better competition were losses, granted Gardner did enough in the South Carolina game to win the game but the defense choked it away.

  • I know that the op isn't looking for a serious answer, but I'm going to give one anyway. It's worse for OSU that Gardner has two more years. If he only had one more year of eligibility then after Gardner graduated OSU would end up facing either Bellomy (he's bad), Morris as a RS freshman (he needs work), or Speight as a true freshman (it's usually bad when true freshman start). I think all of those scenarios would greatly benefit OSU more than facing Garnder as a RS senior.

This is like your 10th post ITT. If I was trolliing, i certainly got you good.

But i'm not. It's pretty simple IMO. If you think Gardner is a good QB, you have intelligence comparible to a 4 year old.

The real question is, who is worse at QB? Shane or DG? Either way you're screwed, but I think it would be better for tOSU and the BIG in general if Shane was at the helm.

  • Murrdawg, this troll seems below you brah. Luke Roberts would not be pleased.

The name Andrew Maxwell should clear Spartan fans out of her pretty quickly.

It's funny seeing them so desperate, they are relying on calling a HS Sr., who is not even on campus, a bust. 6-6 will do that to you I guess.

You do realize that Braxton had his best passing games against Miami(OH), Cal, Indiana and Illinois. 8 out of 12 games he didn't even pass for over 200 yards, the 4 opponents that I listed are the only teams that allowed him to pass for over 200 yards.

That's it. Even though we all know (except m*chigan fans) that DG sucks, I still think it would be better if he didn't get that extra year. At best he will "serviceable" his RS senior year, and m*chigan can hope Green and their defensive recruits live up to the hype and produce. Shane or any others you listed would be well below "serviceable" at that point.
