Does Devin Gardner getting 1 more year help or hurt tOSU?

  • This thread is about to get locked if I had to risk a guess. In before the inevitable lockdown, I would have to say that Gardner is a little better than given credit for. If he had better protection next year, he could be a major weapon for m*chigan. I don't think he's a game changer for his team like Duhnard was or Braxton Miller is, but he's a pretty solid mobile QB.
One thing being overlooked in this argument however is the differing offensive styles. M*chigan's style utilizes the passing game a little bit more as they arent a great running team and tOSU runs the ball quite a bit more since they have a very deep stable of RB's, as well as Miller's exceptional running ability. That is something that hasn't been considered for the difference in stats. Remember, Gardner took the reins when Duhnard, the team's best rusher, was injured.

    lol

I'm not sure the best offensive mind in the B1G, one BOB, could do anything for either of these two's passing ability.

That's saying a lot given what he did for Matt McGloin!

Yes we do. Please compare m*chigans D the year Denard finished 6th in the heisman to OSU's 2012 D...TIA

What does Michigan's defense have anything to do with Denard finishing 6th in the Heisman voting?

If anything I would think that would make what he did even more impressive.

I was basically wondering why Braxton was a better QB because tOSU supposedly has a better defense (which I am not sure of).

tOSU's defense was bad in a historically bad B1G last season.

and Newton, Manziel, Luck, Roethlisberger, Rivers, etc.. bad troll is bad.

All of those guys have something Miller doesn't, the ability to throw the football accurately.

I give McGloin more credit honestly. He didn't have all the physical tools, but most of his problem was with no direction and consistancy in that offense before BOB.

I actually thought he was going to be a nice surprise last season. Without some bad breaks in the first 2 games, that could have been a heck of year....more so than it already was.

Urban Dictionary answer for your small mind.

"take it to the house to score a point in a sports game Run man! Take it to da House!!"

turning to urban dictionary for concrete definitions.. I know it's been a long time since you have had a real electric play maker, but damn that is sad.

    seriously grasping for straws there.

Passed for 11 TDs and ran for 7 more in the 5 games he played last season. But yeah, he totally sucks on both fronts. Not to mention his 243.8 passing YPG as compared to Miller's 169.9 passing YPG.

And 13 of those 18 total TDs happened against Iowa, Minnesota and Northwestern..

He also threw an INT in every game he started

    Maintain expectation please.

    Reasoning shrug

You are spewing incomplete stats and opinion. How's 12-0 for reason. Maybe 26-21 rings a bell.

I am just curious what Braxton would have done in Dallas anymore than what Denard did if they would have played in a game like that last season. Personally, I don't think it would be any different this season either if they lined it up against us. The players just aren't there yet.

Braxton didn't even do much against Michigan's defence. Safe to say he would have gotten exposed just like Denard did.
