I think he won every defensive award imaginable...trick is to somehow pull out the all around awards like the maxwell or walter camp to really get your total up.

  • The kid is a good football player, even great, but not near the level he's being held up to. Call me a hater, but I just don't see it. Especially compared to a guy like Suh, if we're talking defensive guys.

    You're not alone.

  • Looks like Teo is 18-0 on the season. Can he make it a clean sweep and go 20-0?

    Where is he now?

Te'o will have a long and likely HOF NFL career.

Um.. the starting MLB for the Rams, pretty much leads that defense. Good call.

I couldn't agree more. The unfortunate events in his personal life gave him so much more credit than he deserves IMO. As awful as that sounds, only a homer could deny it.

    James Laurinaitis

    Consensus All-American (2006, 2007, 2008) Bronko Nagurski Trophy (2006) Dick Butkus Award (2007) Jack Lambert Award (2007, 2008) Lott Trophy (2008) Lowe's Senior CLASS Award (2008)

The St. Louis Rams announced they've reached a five-year contract extension with middle linebacker James Laurinaitis on Saturday.

The five-year contract extension is worth $41.5 million, a team source told NFL.com and NFL Network reporter Albert Breer. Laurinaitis' deal, which will keep him under contract through the 2017 season, is worth a total of $42.2 million, of which approximately $23 million is guaranteed, the source told Breer.

A 2009 second-round draft pick (No. 35 overall) out of Ohio State, Laurinaitis has 376 tackles, eight sacks, five interceptions and 17 passes defensed over his first three seasons in the NFL. Laurinaitis has started all 48 games during his career and, according to official playing-time documents, has missed just three snaps over that span.

Between the signings of Laurinaitis, who was voted team captain earlier this week, and defensive end Chris Long, the Rams have locked up the core of their defense through the 2016 season.

And they have a buttload of top picks to further improve the defense, thanks to the Redskins...

Experts, committees, and former players who know the game disagree with you.

Guy wins basically every award he is qualified for and you still think he is average..

    It discredits you

  • Dont really understand why domers are hating on James L. He was a consensus 3 time all american (first team)... Teo made the first team this year and this year alone.

somewhat of a one hit wonder if you put it into perspective... stir
