Does Te'o really deserve the Heisman?

  • MOIRISH said...

I will. Manziel was arrested this past summer. Nice role model. Heisman stands for excellence on and off the field. People will always recognize a Heisman winner with reverance. Two of the three invited guests possess this and it is not the one that likely will walk away with the award. Te'o is the best combination of Highly skilled player/leader that is out there today. You ask a kid who he wants to be and he may say Manziel. You ask any father who he wants his son to emulate it is Te'o.

I don't think I'd want to emulate a guy who cheats on his dying girlfriend. But that's just me.

  • Manziel got his stats inflated by the $hit schedule they played. If he played against all the teams ND did people would be like Johnny who????

Inflated stats? How about that fact that he missed over 6 quarters because we were blowing teams out? He'd easily be over 5,000 yards and close to 50 TD's.

You are a complete tool! And you know he cheated on his dying gf how? Your fantasy of his d*ck in your mouth doesn't mean he is cheating. Or you could be thinking of that time when you heard your mom squealing from the bedroom and you went to check it out....that wasn't Manti bro, that was me in a #5 ND jersey punk!

No. More like: Sam Houston St, South Carolina St, and SMU. Keep trying.

Yea he really had a hand in that missed pitt fg, that USC wr dropping the ball, and that stanford guy reaching over the goal line!

    /fart

Get over the Stanford call. Taylor was down. The Pac 12 refs and their commissioner said he was down. Pitt I will give you was a lucky break but that was Pitt kicker chocking. If you actually watched the game ND dominated but continually shot themselves in the foot to make it close.

I know a girl who works for the Citrus bowl and met him there and they were banging for a while. I'm still a fan but all the stuff about him being a great guy cracks me up, not saying he isn't since I've never met him but he certainly isn't perfect. shrug

  • Teo dosnt deserve the heisman. He is not even the best linbacker in the country. Clowney is more deserving than teo. Manziel should win this award for the numbers he put up. Teams dont have to know where teo is at all tines but menziel better have a spy and you better double team clowney.

  • Most overhyped sob story in the history of college football. We all lose loved one, but these awards should be based on merits from the field, not overhyped sob stories. Te'o is a great kid, but we all have lost family members, and we all have a tough road. My Grandfather is fixing to die from cancer, where is my award?

No - the point of the thread is to express hate and jealousy at a kid that nobody on this board knows personally. That and the unfounded hate for ND.

I laugh because guys who have played at Te'o's level and have an established understanding of the sport have already awarded the kid 4 elite awards - but on this board you got guys who sit up all night playing Black Ops and Halo sitting in their bedroom at mom or dad's house (most on here from a broken home clearly) pass judgement that is clearly biased and ignorant.

But who cares - if Te'o being named a finalist for the Heisman gets you all worked up and pissed - take a vacation, life is too short.

That "broken home" bit is not worthy of a Notre Dame fan.

I have a stat for you...

Both players played 3 teams that finished the season ranked

Against those 3 teams, Manziel's production dropped by about 40% from his season average.

Against those 3 teams, Te'o had about a 40% rise in production from his season average.

Notre Dame also held those three opponents to an average of 21.6 points per game less than their season output.

aTm only averaged 8.2 points per game more than their 3 opponents averaged giving up.

Bloopedy bloop bloop. What about Manti's three tackles against Pitt? A whopping three tackles, I said!! Oh yea, and you failed to mention all three of those teams that Manziel played, yea, they are in the top ten, with two in the top five. What were the three that Te'o played ranked? How many top ten offenses did he face? Better yet, how many top 25 offenses did he face? Nice way to construe the stats there dude. Oh yea, and by the way, Manziel still had over three hundred yards against LSU, and he still had us in postiion to win the game. Two of the INT's he threw were his fault, on was Mike Evans' fault. Against Florida, he played a good game, with zero turnovers and one TD. Against Bama? Well, yea, you saw that one. I'd like you to prove to me that his production went down 40 percent against Alabama. Oh yea, and show me how his production went down 40 percent in his first game of the year, or on a college football field for that matter.

You can look it up. Those are the facts. His completion percentage went down by 6.4 %, his passing yards down 18 %, his TD passes down 66 %, interceptions up 40 %, yards per carry down 46 %, rushing TD's down 160 %.

    Te'o had his tackles up 28 %, sacks up 62 %, interceptions up 40 %, tackles for loss up 64 %.

Also, ND held those teams to 21 points below their season average, while Agy put up only 8.1 points more than what those teams were averaging giving up.

Manti captained a much better defense than Johnny did an offense. Facts are facts. Johnny ran up his numbers against the nobodies on his schedule.

Manti captained much better than Johnny Football when Johnny Football led his team to a victory in Tuscaloosa? ND didn't play a team all year nearly as tough as Alabama, so you fail. You also failed to pay attention to the facts that I mentioned. How many top 25 offenses did Manti face?
