Does the type of steak you eat describe you as a man?

Still never been a huge ribeye fan. I know fat is flavor and all, but ribeye's just have too much fat for my liking. I like the T-Bone because you get the flavor from the bone and don't have to deal with all the damn gristle. Plus you get two cuts in one steak.

If you are talking about all tenderness, then why not a filet? That is a lot more tender than a ribeye. You are contradicting yourself homeslice.

Because filets are small, like women. Good grief. Just get a beer and I'll order for us. A T-bone is acceptable, but you're driving a Camaro when you could be driving a Corvette. Don't settle, Ratt.

I just prefer a T-bone. You aren't going to change my mind.

Well maybe not, but if you've ever been to a high-end steakhouse that knows what they're doing and how to prepare steaks, I just can't seeing going with a bone-in ribeye or bone-in prime rib.

Best steak I've ever had was a 26 oz bone-in ribeye from Kevin Rathbun's Steakhouse in Atlanta. 2nd best was the bone-in prime rib at The Sun Dial in Atlanta. My wife had filets both times. I'm pretty sure I saw a few "men" who lead "alternative lifestyles" eating T-bones.

    To be fair,

You just questioned my steak knowledge by listing two restaurants in Atlanta that can't even hold a candle to the top twenty to thirty that I have been to easily. Actually I've been to a couple in Atlanta better than the one's you just listed.

The answer to your question is yes.

I've got two car payments, a mortgage, student loans, gas money since I commute, and other bills every month. Sorry but I can't afford my favorite cut every time. Ribeye by the way

    IDWIW

  • And I don't?

I'm just saying that it's not like you have to eat steak every night. I eat it twice a month maybe.

I eat it once a week in the summer. Only get 8 Tbones off my quarter so I spread them out. Ribeye and flat irons in the middle. Maybe a chuck eye occasionally

  • I'm a T-Bone fan. I like the strip and filet all in one every once in awhile but nothing on earth beats a 1 inch Bone in ribeye cooked to medium rare. The only seasoning I use is crushed peppercorn, sea salt and coat both sides with extra virgin olive oil. Damn. I need steak now.

Angelo's in Panama City used to have a great steak. Haven't been in a while though. The best steaks are the ones you cook yourself. Screw a steakhouse.

Oh, there's better steakhouses all over than The Sun Dial, but that one bone-in prime rib I had there one night was unbelievable.

    Have you been to Rathbun's?

  • I refuse to eat red meat generally speaking (I'll cheat here and there) and have started to slowly cut chicken and pork out of my diet.

If you haven't seen forks over knives, watch it. Best documentary ever made for the health and well being of America.

I still get the craving and I'll have a burger with sauteed onions, etc and all the works. If I have a steak (maybe twice a year), I'll get a ribeye (marbling provides the best flavor) and get it blackened rare.

If I go to somebody's house (has to be like in Nebraska, Iowa, Texas, etc) and they're firing them up on the grill, I'll just tell 'em give it to me exactly the way you like it....

Red meat though is bad, very, very bad....

This is true. Red Meat is terrible for you even in small consumption. I've known people to completely cut it out of their diet and they literally stop getting sick. I maintain a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly so moderation of it won't kill me. I haven't watched the documentary but I'm going to now.

You're gonna be blown away with what you see. I was awestruck. blank

I agree wtih you though, if you maintain the healthy lifestyle, it's ok to get in that porterhouse once in a blue moon!!

I'm just going by reviews and I could be wrong but I have a feeling that I'm not. Steak is honestly more about where the meat comes from than it is who is cooking it though.

You give me a wagu steak a day from the butcher, and I could cook you something better than you would get in the state of Alabama on Waffle House's grill.

No we're not. The best food you can possibly put into your body is broccoli and it's not even close. It has more calcium per serving than milk, more vitamin c per serving than an orange, loaded with vitamin b's, folate and a host of other minerals and nutrients. You can almost live off broccoli alone. It lowers blood pressure, lowers cholesterol, fights all cancers and maintains a healthy colon.

If ya' gonna have a juicy ribeye or porterhouse, have a side of broccoli with it!! thumbsup

I know, I know... you're thinking THESE guys.... sorry to hijack the thread, bro.

One of my favorite things on the planet is broccoli cheese casserole.

I'm not opposed to veggies at all. I'm just not one to give up meat. Yeah that sounded bad I know.

I just said it was terrible for you and most American illness is a result of red meat and dairy product. That's all true. Just eat in moderation, exercise and you'll live longer. I freakin love a bloody steak but I refuse to eat it more than once or twice a month. I haven't had any sickness in 3 years. Not even a common cold.
