Legally speaking, this is nonsense. A state cannot threaten to imprison federal officials who enforce federal law. That's the basic idea of the Supremacy Clause. If Texas doesn't like it, they can take it to court and challenge the federal law. But the idea that a state can punish federal officials for enforcing federal law is laughable. This representative clearly either doesn't know the basics of our Constitution, or is pandering to his constituents by proposing something he knows is nonsense. I can't decide which is worse.

I think it's both, frankly. The Rep doesn't understand the constitution, and while he knows this is probably questionable, he's still pandering to his constituents.

Basically, we've got the blind leading the blind.

People who don't know anything about what they speak. The idiot rednecks that like to think they don't have to follow the law. They're boy Scalia has already said strict gun control measures are constitutional so it's tough shit.
