Don't mess with Texas and our guns

Because 3 weeks after that bill was passed SC repealed the nullification ordinance.

Because their "Threat" so to say, worked

They got what they wanted for one reason mainly, no one in the federal gov. was willing to forcefully solve this problem. Instead there was one of many deals made,

Oh I agree with you there, but it worked once, and I would wager that it would work again. Or at least cause some repeals.

I highly doubt it. The threat of such action is just a ploy by politicians to dupe people into thinking that they're taking a stand, when in reality, they're just making empty (and dangerous) promises.

I do agree it isn't legal, I honestly do. But as we know just because something is illegal doesn't prevent it from happening.

The only reason I could see any politician doing something like that is to pander votes in Texas. Which would probably be pretty effective, actually.

I think it is worth while for a state to do such a thing if that is what its people believe in.

Haha. If only you were here with your guns and all of your bad assness to protect me and everyone else. Of course, I don't tolerate imbeciles so you wouldn't last long and we'd have to send you back to Glen Beck and the rest of lunatics.

Could care less about protecting you or anyone else. I have guns to protect my home.

Look, just because guns scare you, doesn't mean they are a bad thing.

Let those of us who use them and enjoy them have them. You do your thing, I'll do mine.

I am an independent that knows several people on both sides. I find it hilarious that when discussing things with Republicans, they state all these different reasons why they disagree with Obama and democrats and why their ideas are different. When you talk to Democrats, they bring nothing to the discussion. The majority can't think for themselves and only repeat what others say. They use words like racists, dumb, white, redneck, etc but can rarely make a fact based statement about anything relevant. While I disagree with several Republican points, atleast they will tell you why they believe that way. Democrats don't believe in anything besides being different than Republicans.

And no, I wouldn't protect you. Why the hell should I? I take care of myself.

And obviously you haven't been comprehending what I've been posting if you joke about sending me back to Glen Beck. I'm not a democrat, nor a republican. I'm a independent. But don't let facts get in the way of you attempting to smear an anonymous online poster who has differing opinions than you.

Let's just take a second and think about what a total bad ass you are, Sir.

You definitely have that backwards. If you'll notice most of the thread is not arguing about actual facts and proposals, like universal background checks, assault weapons ban (a little bit on this in this thread), high capacity magazine ban, gun studies, etc. Most of the thread is about all these bad asses and what they'd do if the gubment comes knocking on their doors to take their guns. Instead of arguing about what is actually being proposed they want to talk about something that's never been proposed. They do it because they have no original thoughts and are only repeating the propaganda that gets fed to them so they go buy more guns. The same things most of these idiots were doing four years ago the first time Obama got elected, even though there was no evidence whatsoever that he was even the slightest bit interested in gun control as an issue for his presidency.

So im guessing if the next school massacre happens(which I hope never does) and a guy kills 5 kids with a knife, we will have all knives banned?

We are losing our freedom by the day it seems. Ron Paul was America's last chance

If you think this board is a representation of the country, well I guess I can't prove you wrong. I'm talking about people in real life, not the Internet tough guys. Do you think that anything proposed would have stopped Sandy Hook besides the mental aspect that has been argued all along by Republicans? Do you think you could get yourself out of debt by not addressing the fact that you spend more than you make? These are all real issues that we face and I'm not seeing the left use any common sense. I'm not saying the right is correct but it's obvious that crazies are killing and spending doesn't solve a debt problem.

    Easy.

    lesser of two evils.

He is definitely a RINO but certainly isn't as far left on certain policies as Obama. Gun control for one.

Obama has shown no interest in cutting spending. His plan seems to be to spend our way to prosperity. Who knows what Romney would have done had he gotten elected, but the man knows how to run businesses and make money, and I don't think he could do any worse on the economy than Obama. Hopefully he would have been open to serious talks about cutting spending.

    Those are just two reasons.

Yes. Universal background checks for all gun purchases can make a difference. You get yourself out of debt by spending less and making more. That has been proposed by Obama. The republicans proposed further tax cuts, clearly the proposal of a party serious about the debt. Of course they gave us the Bush years so I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised, and unfortunately I voted for that idiot twice.

I didn't. I am saying that the right is bringing more common sense to the table than the left at this point. The election is over and Romney is out of the picture. That doesn't mean that there still isn't an everyday struggle between the left and right.

You are trying to bait me so ill give you this. I would've voted Romney because I felt like Obama is using everything he can to divide the country. Race, gender, age, social, etc. Since when did it become a bad thing to be rich and successful? Plus, I am against illegal immigration and think that we should welcome everyone willing to go through the proper steps and turn people back that have no intentions of following our immigration laws that are already in place. Happy?

Pubs just gave you almost a trillion in new tax revenue and Obama's response was "I get that for free." He has NO interest in CUTTING SPENDING. Tax more and spend more has been his philosophy so far.

Who said it was a bad thing to be successful? Answer, no one. When people suggest that raising taxes by 3.6% on the top 1% is trying to divide the country and insinuating that being successful is bad, they are admitting to being a disingenuous asshole.
