I genuinely like Dooley, the man, and had high hopes for him as a HC but he's in over his head. He can't control the program in any way. He just wasn't ready for THAT job. Too many expectations for that program and there was no way he could meet them. He's not even approaching them and that's the problem.

I understand the Kiffin/Tennessee dynamic makes things more interesting but no school should feel too terrible about losing a kid to Kiffin/Orgeron and USC. They are going to win a lot of battles out there. Just wait until they have a full class to work with and don't have to be so picky. No one will be off limits. I'm no fan of Kiffin or Orgeron but I fully respect their ability to recruit. Everyone should.

I can guarantee everyone that he will not be fired for not getting a recruit. That's stupid to even consider.

He will be in trouble if they don't win 7 or 8 games, but I think they do that.

I think Dooley came into a bad situation and I don't think he will survive much longer. I think he is an average coach but I love listening to his interviews....dude is funny as shit. His sarcasm with people cracks me up. I hope they keep Dooley because I just don't see Dooley winning anything that matters. UTk is 2nd in all-time wins in the SEC and in the top 10 historically in wins if I'm not mistaken. If the right man lands that gig at some point they will rise again. I hate UTk but it's a good program. Success comes in cycles and their time will come again but not under Dooley IMO.

This isn't just a recruit and its not like hes losing Ramsey to just anybody. Also, its not the only reason he would be getting fired, nobody said that. He is on thin ice and this could be his undoing.

Na, not like he is a total failure in recruiting, he wins 7-9 games(especially if its one or more over UGA,UF,Bama) he will be fine. nobody gets fired over losing a recruit or two thats just part of the game of recruiting, he only gets 4-6 wins and he is done.

The Rogers incident is nothing now after months to soothe it over but at the time it was paramount. The inmates were running the asylum. No Tennessee fan can deny that. What makes you think that won't happen again? Do you really feel you guys are gonna win 8 games this year? What happens if you don't? Sunshine pumping is understandable and I respect that but the disaster scenario has to be considered as well. What if he goes 5-7 or 6-6? His ass is gone, and sbould be. It's a reasonable expectation outside of Knoxville. We've all read Volnation, we know how you guys sugarcoat shit. 8 wins is not as easy as you guys seem to thnk it is. Bray is talented but has to prove he can do it consistently. Hunter has to prove he isn't a toothpick that gets hurt when contact comes. Who's going to run the ball? Who's going to block? Who's going to step up on defense? It's like waiting on the lottery to hit. You need the perfect season jus to hit 8-9 wins. Solid but not "Tennessee" standard quality.
