Dwight Howard now a Laker.....

    The Lakers have 16 championships. Boston has 17.

    The rest of the league combined has 32 or 33.

    Its pretty much what has always happened. (The Lakers reloading and winning championships)

    History has no bearing on the magnitude of improvement over last year's team.

    He's an upgrade over Bynum.

    But I agree that the extent of that upgrade is WAY overblown by those jumping onto the Lakeshow bandwagon.

    So, the Heat fans weren't over blowing it by feeling awesome about LBJ/Bosh's additions to a franchise with 1 championship in team history.

    But, the Laker fans shouldn't feel too confident about the additions of DHoward/Nash, while keeping Kobe/Gasol? To a franchise thats known for winning championships.

    The logic in this bih is serious early this am.

    I really want to get into this argument about Howard because the guy is so over rated its funny... but I have to study... procrastination is not good... I just can't wait till the season starts so we can see how over rated he really is once he is on the court with an Offense that isn't geared around giving him stats that are still mediocre considering its based off of him... and don't get me started on this inflation of his defensive capabilities... lol let me get off of this board because I know its going to get heated as usual where someone calls me an idiot for my opinion... Just can't wait for the NBA!!!

    Orlando likely refused to take Gasol, there is no good reason for them to take him on he is 32 and making $19 million a year. This isn't Memphis Pau, he wouldn't drag Orlando to 50 wins he would take them to the back of the lottery which is the worst place to be. The Magic did the right thing in stripping their roster to the bone.

    I'm not sure how much the Lakers wanted to keep Gasol, being the notorious sulker that he is it's only going to get worse now that he is the 4th option. They could of course trade Pau but nothing really comes to mind right now. Lakers i'm sure would like another wing defender as Kobe is unable to keep up on defence anymore(although irrational Lakers fans are still adamant that Kobe is an all world lock down defender).

    I'd still have the Heat as the favourites for the title because nobody knows what this Lakers team is going to look like off paper and their age could cripple them against younger more athletic teams in the playoffs as it did last season.

    All in all it's another highway robbery for the Lakers and as a Warriors fan who has witnessed exactly one post season series victory since birth I am f*****g bitter about this trade.

    Rational post at least.Kobe is definitely not the the defender he used to be but he's still above average.He just doesn't have the foot speed anymore do to old age.If the Lakers jell it's over.

  • I still don't get the Mike Brown hire.. Man if they don't do well he might be gone.

    I just don't think he's a good coach.. Every offense he has coached has been terrible.. No ball movement, lots of 1 on 1 and doesn't go into the post often.. Hopefully he gets the ball down low, he completely left Gasol out of their offense last season. The man can coach defense though.
