Criminal Justice? Lol. Does this kid wanna be a LB or one of those homos from CSI?

He actually wants to be on the Internet Police, lulz. No joke BTW.

  • I understand he was overrated....I agree. But what the hell is up with 247's rankings. What did you guys see that made you rank him in the top 20 then what did you see that made you drop him almost 200 spots.

Wow.... OK, look at it this way, not every player plays pro ball, have to have something to fall back on... this is the biggest issue with sports is players and fans who totally disregard the value of education and preparing for after sports...

Levenberry is far from average. There's nothing average about his film, his character, or his production on the grid iron. I've been watching him since his sophomore season at DeMatha, and he's dominated against the best of the best in Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.

Part of the reasoning to his slide on here is comical at best. It was assumed that Florida State and other schools weren't as interested in him, because FSU had not been in contact with him for 5-weeks (which let Michigan into the picture.)

He didn't entertain all these other schools, because he had no interest in them, and his family didn't want to waste their time or the school's time. That's why there wasn't a bunch of dramatic updates like there is with Laremy Tunsil (for example), with a new Top 5 every week.

He knew who his favorites were. He zeroed in on them. Then he and his family took multiple visits to both schools. And now a decision is here. They handled the recruitment the right way.

    shrug

His ranking will go back up when people can see him in person at the U.S. Army All-American practices/game, IMO.

    Agree. I don't think he's like #15 overall but I think he'll end up around #105 which means he's a stud.

Yeah, thread is pretty boring now that everyone is now saying FSU. Your mods predict FSU recently? I'm surprised a major means so much to a prospect. Most football players go to school and major in football, if you know what I mean.

Our mods haven't predicted FSU, but have said it's a toss up. FSU mods seem more confident, and when Michigan mods aren't confident, it usually doesn't mean good things.

And your last point I agree with, but Levenberry's family is very grounded it seems. Take the whole process very seriously including the education.

  • He is the best linebacker in the country. jk, but I do think he is overrated by rivals, and somewhat underrated on here.

I'm not using it as an excuse - Steve Wiltfong just posted on our board that he thinks this could be the major factor. We don't have the criminal justice thing that he's looking to do, that's a fact, not an excuse.

I'd love to be wrong, though.

And his father is an cop I believe. This will probably play a part in his decision.

Hardly an excuse. If 2 schools are pretty much even, why not go to the school that has your major?

Why not go to a school that can put you in the league? Much more money to be made in the NFL. I respect the guy for factoring in major to the decision but it's freakin criminal Justice not aerospace engineering.

Name a B1G, ACC, SEC, Big 12, Pac 12 school that can't put a kid in the league. If he has the talent and drive, the league will notice him.

Agreed, but FSU and Michigan are both schools that will put you in a position to succeed. I don't think either will put him behind the 8 ball in making the NFL, both give great exposure, and I think both will have great defenses that he can succeed on in the future.

Who knows what his decision will actually come down to, but his dad is making it seem that education is a major factor.

We need more Internet Police anyway.

In all seriousness E.J. is a baller, and I hope he chooses Michigan. He did his recruitment the right way, and I'll cheer for him wherever he ends up.

Who pissed in your oatmeal? The kid has a desire to be in the FBI as a forensic investigator.

Is it your nature to be cynical and argumentative without having all the data?

  • Ej is not your typical Florida state linebacker. Under sized speed guy. His more of a bigger old school thumper of a Lb. Very good tackler, not much speed ,or range. Should be a middle LB and be pretty good at it.

You need to stay updated. FSU's starting LBers this will be

    6'2 245
    6'3 220
    6'4 245

    and backing up 6'3 220 will be 6'1 245

    What?

Levenberry is a great athlete for his size. He's not being recruited for MLB for Michigan, and I doubt he is at FSU either. Going sideline to sideline is one of his stronger traits.

  • Think he is FSU bound. I think even most FSU fans think the major is an issue in their favor.

Good luck to him, where ever he ends up.

Agree. IMO, he is FSU bound at the criminal justice program was the deciding factor.

BTW, EJ is seriously underrated on this site IMO. Hoke and Mattison want him bad. We are full at LB w/ 6 highly regarded commits over the last two years. That is in addition to 2 of our 3 starters last year still having 3 years of eligibility.

The fact that the coaches still want EJ speaks volumes about this kids talent (at least as it pertains to our defensive scheme), considering they told both Dorian O'Daniel and Alex Anzalone to not even bother visiting.

EDIT: I really approve of how EJ and his family have handled his recruitment. They are all top notch people. Whoever gets EJ is getting an ELITE linebacker on and off the field.
