You're entitled to your opinion. Browne is easily the #1 QB for me at this point. He has the frame, accuracy, arm... everything you look for. The only thing I would say Browne needs to work on is his footwork. He stays balanced, but he has the Sanchez happy feet. Morris I think has the highest ceiling, but he is still developing accuracy and consistency. He's got a rocket arm and the best footwork of the 3, and has experience under center.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why Browne is so good based on his film. I'll grant that if people have seen him in camps and stuff...I haven't. All I see is his film, and I do see very good things (build, strong arm), but not sure where you're getting the accuracy part.

Here's what I see out of his film: a QB chucks it deep to a WR who has beaten the DB. I got through about 6:00 worth of that before I closed the video. 90% of his highlights consisted of essentially that same play.

How can you tell accuracy from that, especially in the short game? I've been waiting for someone to tell me why I'm wrong on this, but nobody has yet. I can see why Browne is considered a good/great QB prospect, but I'm not seeing a 5* prospect here.

Hackenberg's film is seventeen and a half minutes long, and you get to see a little bit of everything - deep throws, intermediate throws, short throws, out routes, etc.

I haven't watched Morris' film, so I can't comment on him.

So you looked at 1 video of each, and decided all of these things? Especially when you are watching a video that is 3 times the length of the other one?

Browne is quicker in his drops, is more consistent with his throwing mechanics, and is better at progressing through reads and making decisions. He's also better at escaping the rush, re-setting and making an accurate throw.

You're more than welcome to disagree, but I really don't think you've seen enough of both guys to make the comparison fairly.

  • Another year of devalued CA players.

Luginbill for the past 3-4 years or so has been saying that Georgia is better at producing top football talent than CA.

Last year in the NFL CA 211 players, Georgia 80. CA led all states.

So what is the per capita of those numbers?

Per Capita is irrelevant. If you wanted to make a per capita argument, then you really should only use High School Varsity football players as the population numnber.

Anyway per capita America Samoa is better than everyone, but nobody is going to argue that America Samoa is a better talent producing area than CA, FL, or TX.

    ESPN ranking system = juggle

come on man watch the tapes .
    - good prospect ? yes
    - top ten ? maybe top ten among his position.

Don't forget the under armor bump. If a prospect chooses to play in the underarmor game over the Army game, then that is worth a good 10-20 spot bump.

Ok then use that as the population sample, but it will still be a more reasonable statistic figure given the population proportion of the state even if the standard deviation is high on high school varsity number.

It doesn't change the fact that CA produces substantially more NFL talent than GA, hence they should have substantially more kids than GA on this list. These rankings aren't per capita, they are who are the best prospects overall.

    Alonzo Harris

  • Isn't the list of HS talent, not NFL talent.... and who really cares if there is more from one state.... really silly argument.... it is all opinion based anyway... just a guess of who is better...
