  • I hate ESPN, don't watch it, read their magazine of listen to their radio..only when I have to, to watch our games or listen to our coaches and players interviewed - no one else.

Two years now, have not watch any non USC games on TV, and won't till sanctions are over with.

  • Interesting that a Buckeye would start a thread about this... particularly on tBB.

Looks like we're on our way back to being the most hated team in America again... I do kinda miss being the antagonist...

Seriously, how is your network coming? Some Horn friends of mine are complaining that they can't get the channel - in Texas. It takes time to work out all the kinks...hope this gets sorted out soon for y'all.

No idea tbh. Still the same stage it was in before the season. ESPN wants top dollar and to put it on everyones basic package so that it can be distributed amongst the most amount of people and the cable companies are resisting because they dont see the appeal in a 1 team network that gets 1 or 2 football games that would go on their regional networks anyways. Most people in Texas dont have it. Ive heard rumors AT&T is farther along in their negotiations but theres nothing to support that theory.

They should just cover their losses and merge into a Big XII network IYAM.

  • Theyre invested in it for 20 years and either way Texas is getting paid whether people see it or dont see it at the moment. I watched the free preview weekend a while back and some of the content was cool to see. The practices were fun to get a look into. With that said I still dont know if theres enough content to keep it viable during the offseason.

USC games to air on ESPN Radio

LOS ANGELES -- USC announced Monday that it has reached a multiyear deal with ESPN Radio to broadcast all of the Trojans' home games nationally.

This is only the second national radio deal in college football -- Notre Dame and IMG have a similar relationship -- and the first of its kind for ESPN Radio.

The multiyear deal also provides Spanish-language rights for ESPN Deportes Radio in the Los Angeles market.

"To partner with ESPN Radio and have the USC brand distributed at this level is a fantastic opportunity to reach Trojan fans throughout the nation," USC athletic director Pat Haden said in a prepared statement. "It is also immensely important that we will be able to reach our Hispanic fan base throughout Southern California with ESPN Deportes."

ESPN Radio's Los Angeles outlet, 710 ESPN Radio, has been the flagship station of the USC football radio network since 2006. USC broadcasts will be available on up to 300 ESPN affiliates nationwide.

"We have had a long relationship with USC which has proven to be an excellent one in many ways," said Tim McCarthy, ESPN Radio's senior vice president for play by play and talent planning. "We will work closely with USC to develop ancillary marketing opportunities to touch USC fans everywhere."

USC opens the 2012 season on Sept. 1 against Hawaii at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Domers and USC the only ones with this deal....our biggest rival.

You have a rabid fanbase, and very vocal. But our program is very well funded and supported as well.

I've been trying to tell my friends down there forever...that we (Trojans) may not all like to brave the L.A. traffic on game day, but we have a very large TV viewing audience, as well as radio listeners - many sit in the stands with their earphones following the game on radio. Trojans are the best bowl series audience out there. If only the rest of the PAC had as large of a TV following, it would be ranked much higher as a conference.

I distinctly said that I read only the stuff that pertains to USC from ESPN, nothing else. I loved WeAreSC in spite of the fact it was ESPN, now they've ruined it in it's new format.

I'll read anthing and everything by Garry, regardless of who he's affiliated with.

Won't have a TV deal due to the SEC.

Won't do the radio deal due to the CTSN which covers Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida panhandle, South Carolina, and Georgia. Not to mention we add new affiliates every year.

There are more CTSN affiliates in the south than there are ESPN radio affiliates.
