Seriously, there's some merit to having this discussion when it's "Can MSU/Wisconsin have sustained success with #20-30 classes" and stuff like that... but you're splitting hairs over a #5 class vs. a #4 class, as if that's as (or more) important than 11 wins vs 7 wins.
Both UM/OSU will have Top 10 classes, so how about you all just can it until November?

to me this is a extreme risk with a marginal reward. Yea its nice to be the first and it will help recruiting but Ohio State recruits light out anyway, is a couple short next year in scholarships and is not hurting for fans or ticket sales.
You would think a program like Maryland, Pittsburgh or Washington would be the first because it would boost the above things mentioned more than ohio state.
With that Marginal bump they will get- maybe going from 6 overall in recruiting to 3- they will now be opened up to possible sanctions from the NCAA all over the place. ESPN will have a back load of tape around 150 hours of Ohio States camp that mostly will not be aired but the NCAA can get to research every little thing the film catches.
I dont know if it is a smart move for a program on probation.
I just do not see the risk/reward for this one unless you are a smaller program- at least not until someone has broke the ice and been the first at this

I am not taking booster payments. The NCAA rule book is endless from what pads you can wear to specific time break up in practice. To how many coaches are on the field.
If they see a GA running too many drills that's a violation.
Not to mention giving a bunch of young kids Mic access for a month. Who knows what they will say that could spark NCAA interest
