It should tell people something that neither Romney or Ryan could bring in ANY of the states they consider "home states" Massachusetts-Obama, Michigan-Obama, Wisconsin-Obama. While at the same time both Illinois and Delaware go easily to Democrats as well. (Those being the home states of Obama and Biden) The people in those states would know these candidates better than anyone else, and they are all going democrat.

Ahh yeah. Ryan was probably put on the ticket to win Wisconsin, but (as a resident) I can say he has no real pull here. Too much union influence.

You're not making much sense. Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Michigan were going to go to Obama regardless of who the presidential candidate is on the republican side.

I believe the 1972 election had McGovern winning only Massachusetts...but you could make a case that it was Sargeant Shriver (His running mates) home state. I am sure one of the landslide FDR wins would have had that happen.

I think he was mainly put there to co-opt his status as the "young star" of the Republican party. His budget was a major Republican talking point and it was something to get excited about.

Maybe, but him being from a swing state didn't hurt. And that seems to have backfired.
