  • Any chance Josh Dobbs gets bumped up to 4 stars. Watching his film versus that of some of the other 4 star QBs, in particular the 2 guys that are 4 star in Georgia...I don't see how/why they are rated higher as he put up great numbers in the best classification in the nation in Georgia's Largest Class.

    Also saw Dobbs, Printz, and Jennings play in the Rising Seniors All-Star Game....Dobbs threw for 220+ yards and 3 TDs. Neither Printz nor Jennings generated any points in the game.

    Tell people what they want to hear, they will like you. Tell them the actual truth...they may not.

  • So what exactly is Stanton doing that is making the coaches say he is #1 after the first few days, but only gets an honerable mention in the article? What are the coaches seeing that you guys arent?

  • The E11 coaches take into account the classroom stuff and what not, JC and everyone else is off the on the field stuff

  • Johnny Stanton elected #1 overall by the coaches for a second straight day. Seems like they see something in him that isn't being portrayed here. I wonder if it's his coachable attitude... it's interesting to see he hasn't gotten much pub here even though he's been chosen #1 overall twice in a row now.

    I agree about the All-Star evaluation as I added that more so as ancilliary information. I followed both last season and Dobbs IMO is/was the better prospect. Honestly, I'm still not understanding why Bama chose to go with Parker McCleod over Dobbs as the 2nd QB in the 2013 Class as I saw McCleod play 13 games last year and Dobbs is definitely the better prospect. Dobbs is also originally from Alabama which makes the decision even more puzzling.

    Bama fans can downvote if you'd like but McCleod over Dobbs was a mistake.

  • I don't think Saban wanted to sign 2 QBs that would be 1A and 1B, I think he wanted a clear #1 and a clear #2 that he could develop and mold. I think signing PM was a message to Bateman that you are my #1 guy, if he wanted a guy to instantly challenge Bateman he could have went with somone like Ferguson or Dobbs. After CB is signed, then you bring in the 1B in the 2013-2014 class to challenge him. JMO!

    Yes, I didn't mean to imply that we haven't seen updates and status reports on his weekend so far just that he's never been included in something like the rising players or things of that nature. I figured, since the coaches ranked him #1 overall two days in a row that he might be considered a rising QB.
