FF WK9 Sit/Start/Questions

  • Alright, with Jordy Nelson's status still questionable and Hernandez on BYE, my lineup is basically all set. Sans one problem: Defense. I played the Patriots D last week and they did admirably but they are obviously on BYE. I also held on to the Ravens D, which had been my starting D for basically the entire season. But now, with injuries and just a lack of impressive play anyway, I think it's time to go back to the waiver wire. So, here are the top 10 D/ST's available in my league:

    Cardinals
    Panthers
    Redskins
    Rams
    Bucs
    Bengals
    Cowboys
    Lions
    Bills
    Eagles

One of the sit/start articles I read on NFL.com had the Lions D as a start for the week. I wanted to get tBB's opinion as well.

  • I think I would go with Detroit against a Jacksonville O that doesn't have MJD.

Do you think either the Ravens or Patriots D's are worth holding on to for later matchups?

  • New England plays Buffalo, Indy, NYJ and Miami in upcoming weeks so I would hold onto them.

I have a trade offer out right now, and I'm gonna come back in here for sit/start advice once I found out if he accepts or rejects it.

  • Jordy Nelson is still questionable so I'd keep an eye on that situation and potentially look at Cobb. He didn't do as well last week as I thought he would, but with Aaron Rodgers throwing the ball, he could go buck wild.

Yeah, Cobb is tempting. He only got me 8 points last week but like you said, he could explode.

It's just hard for me to sit Miles Austin at all, because he's been so consistent (at least 100 yards and/or a TD in all but one game) and Andre Johnson has a great matchup against Buffalo. At the flex, Morris is hard to bench on a normal week, but they play Carolina so he's almost a must start for me.

Yeah, Cobb is tempting, but not tempting enough for you IMO. Plus, here's hoping Jordy's back. pray

  • Flex options: Torrey Smith, Fred Jackson, Stephens howling, mendenhall. Which one should I start. Leaning between the first 2 , but Haden has been locking wrs down and fj is playing Houston.

I'd probably go Torrey Smith and hope Haden doesn't key on him all game. Any play that Haden covers Boldin, Smith has a chance to get open deep.
