FSU and Clemson to Big 12?

  • Mr. Blonde said...

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but UGA is not an older rivalry.

The SC series stared in 1896. The UGA series started in 1897. GT series began in 1898.

    In terms of games played:

    vs. SC - 109 (65-40-4) vs. GT - 76 (25-50-2) vs. UGA - 62 (17-41-4)

    Clemson is 17 & 41 vs UGA ?
well that sounds like the makings of a Big 12 school. blackeye

    just make the call n plug'em in with B12 powers Kansas,K-St,OSU,Iowa St,T-Tech,Baylor.

screw the TV ca$h, A&M and FSU should have been the latest SEC additions. the Aggs add to the SW
market while the Noles would immediately be a hated foe by East Div schools UGA,UF,USCe. as a fan
that in itself would be worth their addition .

Clemson & FSU to the B12? yawn !!!!

Go back to the san box little man. I've had Clemson in every post I've had in this thread. STFU

Well, to be precise, you've had the word "Clemson" in 4 posts (including this latest one) of the 23 total (at the time of this writing) posts you made in this thread (i.e. 19 w/o the word Clemson). So, instead of 'in every post I've had in this thread' perhaps you meant 'in 17.4% of posts I've had in this thread'. Sorry, I'm a numbers guy...

Now, I acknowledge that that's really an immaterial statistic. What is interesting is the intent behind the various comments/commentary that you have put forward. In that light, what matters most is that in the post where you suggest what the Big 12 shoud do, you don't mention adding Clemson and you do mention adding Maryland (and Miami, who you crap on in several other posts). Specifically: "Big 12 should add FSU, Maryland, Louisville and if they can't get ND go for Miami."

Bottom line, you're really suggesting that FSU (who I believe is on the rise, by the way) should go to the Big 12 then you suggest 3 teams that are unlikely to be real competition in the near future (if ever) should join you. From a football perspective, that's how the ACC ended up with Boston College (and Syracuse and Pitt).

If a move is made, it should be a football move and it should be based on elevating the level of competition.

I could easily debunk your elite profile by listing recent top 5 finishes, but that would require some work. If we want to look at performance this century, I know without any need to check that it is:

    1. Texas
    2. OU
    (or 2 and 1)
    and distant third
    SEC mullet 1,
    SEC mullet 2

At least with Vanderbilt you don't have to smirk when you mention the degree (unlike [cough] Alabama).

why bother Horn, its obvious where the B12 stands...
    Oklahoma & Texas are legit programs(albeit down / off-kilter a bit)

Okie Lite is good (nowhere near elite) but a .500 school historically
    - they were #3 a year ago but would have gotten treated like the 2010 Spartans had they played Bama (fact) .

W.Va will add a little "new flare" but wont face more than a pair of quality defenses year in & year out .
TCU is a good add geographically but will beating Kansas prove they belong ?

Nebraska,A&M,Colorodo,Mizzou,& Arkansas made a living off the 'little sisters of the SW'. unfortunately they
are all gone while the little sisters remain .

A&M, Colorado, and Missouri were the little sisters. At least the latter two have had a top 5 finish in the past 50 years. Nebraska was good, but like Alabama, couldn't beat Texas. It wore on them. Funny you should mention Arky. They used to be good, but they haven't been relevant since they left the SWC.

i assume that was a typo or perhaps in your mind the little Pony didnt flop to turf faster than Mike Spinks vs Tyson.

Arky left for the SEC (the SEC West at that) , its a tad different for them now.

as you mentioned Colorodo & Mizzou have had decent teams but while A&M has always struggled w/ Tejas their overall win % is far greater than the remaining little sisters of the 12'.

"The 2 & Who" conference appeared at 1st glance to be well balanced a year ago but after a 2nd take it was obvious that "the 2" were floundering & the little sisters were playing what appeared to be 7 on 7 powderpuff vs each other .

I don't even know what to say. Your post is just so..... Ignorant.

Don't bother. He is an idiot. Perhaps he will google Nebraska's record against Texas in the Big 12 and his tiny mind will start to comprehend... Nah!

    And FSU, welcome!

  • but the 1 is fresh on my mind .

reguardless it doesnt change the fact that the big 2 and the little sisters form what is currently the B12.

Treasure the one because we would have roasted your ass AGAIN with even a marginal second string QB. Alabama has had some good teams to be sure, but they fold when they play a school like Texas.

lol i should have known , another " if my Pony wasnt hurt i could play " posters .

in the 70's ,Texas could square off with the best then again in the 50's so could TCU.

That isn't how the ACC got BC, Cuse or Pitt at all. BC got in because other Big East teams that were hoops powers didn't want in. Miami then campaigned for BC, probably to keep a presence in the North East, and they got in. Cuse and Pitt got in because Swofford is an idiot and made the only move in expansion that valued basketball over football.

Honestly, on paper there are valid reasons to take other teams over Clemson. Even the Noles who think Miami can never be elite again think they can be a good 10 win team with the right staff every year just because of recruiting. Maryland adds major markets that Clemson can't match. L'ville is one of the better hoops draws with potential to be solid on the gridiron. I wouldn't be against Clemson coming with to the B12, but if they are left out it is a problem for Clemson not FSU or the B12. I think the program would decline quickly once shut out of playing games in Florida. If the B12 takes FSU and Miami I don't even think Clemson games get on TV down here.
