I know you guys were after him and many on this board(and other boards) seemed to suggest he was rated too high. It appears he will have his RS burned this weekend and actually play for the first time this year in the SECCG. There is a lot of buzz among fans, beat writer, and even players about this guy and his skills. He seems to be a real star waiting to happen.
What was it about him that made you guys suggest he wasn't elite? I have seen you guys say that Amari was always considered one of the best prospects out of Florida that year and it was Black that was considered to be overrated. I was just wondering why that was...TIA

Fail, again
He was talked about by Saban in the same breath as Amari Cooper before the season started. Only a handful of players in the Saban era have ever been talked about like that and they have all turned out to be first round DP's. But I understand that he's yet another player you missed out on from Florida so obviously, like every other player, you didn't want him or he's overrated.

did you seriously just use analyst's ratings to defend your position regarding Black? He was still rated higher by analysts...do you agree with their ranking of Amari also?
I think you might want to back of the "dime a dozen" label at this point. There are people that are better when it comes to evaluating talent that seem to think the kid is dynamite. Using analyst's ratings isn't going to change that.

THE QUESTION
What was it about him that made you guys suggest he wasn't elite? I have seen you guys say that Amari was always considered one of the best prospects out of Florida that year and it was Black that was considered to be overrated. I was just wondering why that was...TIAANSWERS
He is 5'11 at best, looks like a slot receiver, and players like him grow on trees in Florida.He wasn't anything special... especially for a Florida kid.

Because he was positioned to already prove you wrong as a true freshman before he got hurt. Now he is doing so well even after just being cleared from major surgery that our coaches think he can beat out Juniors and guys who have played a ton already. I mean, you fail, again, like every other single time you ever post on here.
And who gives a damn about the rankings? He was a highly rated WR by every single recruiting service out here. He was rated higher than Coop and Coop is better than any WR you guys have had as long as I can remember. That's not really saying much, but you get the point.
It's not my fault you are an idiot who like to run his mouth. One would think after all these years you would have gotten the message and learned your lesson by now. But you never do. Ever. You are incapable of forming an arbitrary opinion about football and take everything personal for some reason. A player doing well from Florida not at FSU? Has to be a conspiracy. Kid is overrated and not that good.It's one thing to be wrong every once in awhile. It's an entirely different one to wrong every week.

I am having a discussion about it. I didn't attack anyone's opinion. The only thing I will take exception to is when someone throws out the "analysts dropped him so I was right" line...the kid hasn't even played a game yet so we don't know who is right. There are people around the Bama program that disagree with the idea that Black "isn't anything special". I figure it will be next year when we really find out but I can tell you that Amari seems to think highly of him...this was posted on our board from Coops twitter:
@amari_coop2- Chris black sick man!!

Once again you are wrong, because Coop is not better than any receiver to come through FSU since we have had mutiple All-Americans come through our program. I am sure your dumbass heard of a fellow Alabama recruit named Lawerence Dawsey who is our receivers coach and was an All-American. How about Peter Warrick, Andre Cooper, EG Green etc.

I thought so also but it is looking more and more like he very well is going to play. He is taking reps at the Z position behind Norwood which was previously occupied by Bell. I thought he was a slot guy all the way. Should be interesting to see what happens.
