My $100 league is tonight.... 14 man league. That's right. Men at work..... playing fantasy.

$50 league was sunday night. It's 12 man. My roster is stacked. My idiot loving yankee fan buddy took Cano @ 2 so Matt Kemp ending up falling to me at 4. Got Granderson at 20.

    banana

Cano at 2? no My buddy had Tulowitzki fall to him in the last pick of the first round and then he picked up Cano in the first spot of the second round.

  • I use Yahoo and pitching is worth a lot of points, and also you're only allowed so many innings to pitch. Closers are very crucial because they bring in a lot of points with only using up 1 inning.

  • happy about my team except for the fact that i drafted Madsen and lost him a couple of days later (magnified by the fact that i had similar closer issues last year and just had to tank the saves dept. I had to pick up Aroldis Chapman hoping he beats out Marshall for the closer role since he was already taken

i drafted with tons of position options so most of my team is versatile and i wont have to have spots empty on any day
I'm also a second year competitor in a league that has been going for some time now and is a 5 keeper league. of course, when i entered the league i inherited the worst team (otherwise the guys wouldnt have quit of course) so, ive been having to work my way up even though tons of good guys are gone. So, i drafted pitcher heavy as you never can really tell who of the middle to bottom tier guys are going to excel so i wrapped some of them up.

    ROTO league btw

    C - Joe Mauer - C,1B

  • I drafted Cano #1 overall. My strategy is to pick up a rare position in the first round. Usually catcher or 2nd baseman. Back when Mauer was ridiculous, I used to get him. This year the catchers are a little underwhleming so I went Cano. Strategy nearly always pays off as I've won all but 1 league I've ever been in.

Most people scoop up OF or 1B first. There's so many good ones out there I wait on them. Your OF or 1B won't win a league. Closers, 2nd base, and catcher do.

  • Just did an auction draft on Sunday in a 16 team pay league. Five and a half hours of drafting. We went very pitching heavy as well as speed. As constructed now, it would take a herculean effort to beat us in any pitching category.

Lincecum, Price, Grienke, Hamels, Beachy, Cueto, Thornton, Myers, Jordan Weldan, Mike Adams, Sergio Romo is just unfair in a 16-team league.

Crawford, Bourne, Austin Jackson will win us SBs every week and runs most weeks. Our infield leaves some to be desired, but sometimes you have to go outside the box in pay leagues.

I say us, because it's co-managed by myself and a friend.

I disagree on Outfielders. In our League we have 3 starters and the Elite ones go away pretty damn fast.

My outfield is still pretty stacked. Corey Hart will provide good numbers, Nyjer Morgan will give great BA, Mike Carp and Lucas Duda will provide plenty of power.

My pitching is going to dominate.

Ok so here is my $50 league Im in with Lamp. Give your your honest opinion, Im not stoked on it. I draft 12th in a 12 man League. C JP Arencibia until Montero becomes eligible 1B Votto 2B Ackley SS Dee Gordon 3BMark Reynolds OF Matt Halliday OF Cuddyer OF Joyce UTL Butler Bench Jesus Montero Alejandro De Aza Justin Morneau Zach Cozart Mike Moustakes Yonder Alonso Brandon Belt

SP Clayton Kershaw SP Dan Haren P Josh Johnson P Madison Baumgarner P Mike Minor RP Andrew Bailey, Carlos MArmol, Sean Marshall, Mike Adams

I like your hitters besides Ackley...pitching staff is real top heavy

I think Votto is an excellent 1B, Reynolds is solid at 3B, Gordon is a decent SS, Holliday makes me curious with Pujols now gone, Cuddyer is a really good hitter and Matt Joyce slipped off a little bit last year but he's a good OF

big fan of Kershaw and Johnson...I think Haren is still solid but I don't think as highly of him anymore

I think its a good not great team...your team in our league is better but you have some solid talent

Solid team. Pomeranz is going to be a stud, but Col is going to closely monitor his innings. Bench may need some work. Pagan is having a horrible spring and Carp has a huge hole in his swing. Liriano and Cahill are nice late round pick ups if they can return to form.

It seems like he has been needing to use way too many pitches to get through innings...

Same problem he had in the minors when still with the Indians.

    +1 for the info

Was following to see if he was worth an add in my 14 man league but after seeing him need 75-80 pitches to get through 4-5 innings, it made me lay off. That will catch up to him.

I followed him closely when he was still in the Indians system, but haven't much since he's been traded.

    Just general observations...
    First Team:
Love Votto, Cuddyer Cozart, Kershaw, Haren, Bumgarner
    Hate Reynolds, Joyce

Dee Gordon has a ton of potential.

Second: Your pitching has a boom or bust potential. Don't care for Ian Kennedy, but Liriano is a great buy-low candidate and I'm not overly sure what you have in Pineda yet.
    Bill James loves Goldschmidt.
