Fantasy FB Trade Question

  • I am in need of a RB, I've been offered Adrian Peterson for Andre Johnson. Peterson coming off ACL and I know that can be an issue but he's been full sprinting since April and working on his cutting, could be ready for the first game but may not. Andre Johnson missed most of last year with hamstring issues and he's not 100% himself right now but will start the 1st week from what I've been reading.

My question is what do you think of the trade? Would you guys do it?

I have the following RBs: Michael Turner and Donald Brown
I have the following WRs: Vincent Jackson, Andre Johnson, Mike Wallace, Eric Decker, Justin Blackmon, Ryan Broyles

If I did the trade, the guy would have Calving Johnson, Steve Johnson, Andre Johnson, Austin Collie and Brian Quick at WR and at RB he would have Willis McGahee, Doug Martin, Cedric Benson, and David Wilson

Yes do it. You need the depth at Running Back and Decker is going to have a huge year and can be your number 2. I know Peterson has been hurt and I have a man crush on AJ, but I just think you have to look at who has had more touches over the last 3 seasons (AP) and consider what you have in your back field. Try to go and get Toby G if you can just in case. JMO

thanks Los...I think one worry I have is making his WR core that much better but I think mine is pretty stout with a lot of potential

  • Yes

    I'd do it in heartbeat

Johnson has shown to be quite injury prone. I'd take a chance of Peterson recovering from the ACL tear than Andre.

jmo you can find a good wr throughout the season. Think Victor cruz last year. rb is a little harder to find. both get hurt almost every year. andre always has nagging leg injuries so I would do it and just stay on top of free agency wire for another wr

  • RB - Ryan Mathews, Jahvid Best, Roy Helu, David Wilson, Kevin Smith
WR- Hakeem Nicks, Torrey Smith, Reggie Wayne

Anybody have any ideas on how to improve my RB or WR situation? Any fair trades come to mind? (12 team PPR)

I think you have 2 RBs who are hurt right now and when they get back if they stay healthy will be studs

Matthews is a guaranteed #1 when he gets back...you're not too bad off when they come back

I'd have to know the rest of your team including your bench to give you any real insight

    Yikes

I like Hicks and Wayne this year, jury is still out on Smith IMO

I don't like your RB situation at all

  • Yea injuries are what worry me. As far as projected points go, I'm actually 4th in my league. I just need Mathews and Best to be playing.

I also have Eli Manning, Roethlisberger, Jimmy Graham, Fred Davis, Bills D, Ronnie Brown, Leonard Hankerson.

    Waivers are pretty unappealing.

  • I've been trying to trade Fred Davis to someone that has weaker tight ends in exchange for a RB or WR but no one is biting.

Manning and Graham are solid picks

Don't like the Big Ben pick since the Steelers sound like they are going back to a power run.

Bills D could be really really good

Hankerson could be a nice sleeper

I'd try and package Matthews/Davis for a better RB

I got Ben late and wanted a decent backup but I wish I would have grabbed RGIII or Luck instead. I do like his WR's (Wallace and Brown) though.

Find the dumbest person in your league

Look at their lineup. Pick and choose and provide statistics when persuading them

Dumb people get confused by stats and don't take into account injuries

That's kind of the problem. Everyone in my league is competent when it comes to FF knowledge and they're all notoriously reluctant to trade.

I'll give it a try though. Thanks man.

Preach the idea that Ronnie Brown is old and its the Ryan Matthews show now that Tolbert is gone

  • Just an update on my team. I traded Roethlisberger for Josh Freeman (Freeman is a much better bye week plug-in for me, vs Panthers rather than vs Ravens).

Also traded away Reggie Wayne for Dwayne Bowe and Shonn Greene, which helps my RB depth.
