  • Loved the new Gaslight but that came out over a year ago I think. Brian Fallon should do an acoustic album, have you seen his cover of I don't hook up? It's pretty great IMO.

  • I'd probably go with Radiohead or The Strokes as my personal favorites so far but I'm sure there's a better album that I haven't heard. Most of the albums I've heard this year are all solid but nothing that screams album of the year, save for maybe Radiohead.

GB, safe pick... but a good one nonetheless. What's your favorite track?

    Bloom, hands-down.

I guess it did come out a year ago. Time flies. I have been listening to it a lot lately.

One last note on Tech N9ne, but in his song "B. Boy" he does his entire verse in b-words.

Fast forward to 3:00 for his verse.

I haven't. He came through Columbia in 2008, but I didn't go for one reason or another. I regret it (Rob Zombie came through, too...regret that as well). Of course he is here in KC frequently, but I'm just not a big live music fan - especially rap. I'm sure I'll go here soon.

yea he is always touring, so it wont be hard to find a show to go to, especially in that area. You know anything about Kanrocksas? I just saw Eminem is gonna be there so im thinking about going. I had never heard of it though

I don't, actually. I just looked it up and it looks intriguing. It's a huge range of music so I'm sure it'd be enjoyable.

yea I had only heard of a few of the bands listed. Im not really into all the new rock stuff, so D12 Eminem Kid Cudi, Muse were really the only ones i knew of off the top of my head. I definitely want to go on that Friday it'd be awesome.

Derek Roddy is an animal. Gotta love that he's big on being diverse in your playing.

I think my favorite drummers might look like this:

Matt Halpern - Periphery. Look this guy up. He can play. Absolutely love this guy's playing.
Stewart Copeland - The Police. Been around forever, can groove like no other.
Thomas Pridgen - The Mars Volta. My god. Dude is totes unreal.

Yeah you really have to look for good music these days. There have been some solid CDs mentioned ITT though. I'll enter Bad Meets Evil - "Hell: The Sequel". It's the new Eminem/Royce da 5'9" collaboration CD.

    Agree 100 %

I like the new Tv on the Radio album a lot. The Strokes finally put out an album worth a shit. The Weeknd is unreal. I don't usually like r&b but this album is dark and meshes together extremely well. Now, lets hope he doesn't sell out to Drake and Weezy. I like the new Radiohead album a lot and I'm looking forward to the new remixes album of king of limbs Yorke will be debuting soon.

Again, the Fleet Foxes are an unreal band, I will be seeing them in July and the next night we are going to see Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. But next up is WSP at an outdoor venue. WSP is one of the all time favorites just wish I could have seen SCI at bonnaroo with our fellow poster Dan Draper.
