Didn't Anthony Standifer fall victim to that policy as well? Or was that something else?

Not sure about Standifer, Michigan may have dropped him due to grades.

I thought there was more than 2 guys that got dropped from Michigan's class, but that's all I could come up with. shrug

He didn't take a class that he needed for admission to UM, same thing with ND.

  • Thanks clarkW- sorry I didn't interject earlier guys but thats right, Conley spoke with Mattison last week and Mattison never told him his scholarship was taken. It all depends on if he makes those other visits. Sounds like he is hesitant to make those visits without an offer on the table.

  • It's funny for folks here to think BN has insider information on Conley when the infamous "BN Staff" has never mentioned the one reason he really wants to check out Oregon...because his parents are divorced and his mom lives there and wants her son out west.

Seems like a decent piece of information any real insider would know.

OMG, it's the "La-la-la-I'm-not-listening" approach! What a stroke of genius! Why in the name of Brady Hoke's glandular disorder didn't I think of that? That's why you're the best! And it also gives us another adjective for the "Real Men of Genius" commercial! "Mr. Plugged Ear Namecalling Retrospeculation Guy!"

I thought OSU offered? Oregon fans have a right to be bitching then. From what I gathered on their site Oregon staff doesn't want to offer unless he trips. That way they'll know there's genuine interest. UM might have in fall right back in their lap due to Oregons dumb strategy.lol

So Hoke's no visit policy is indeed in effect.

If he visits OSU or Oregon his scholarship from Hoke will be revoked?

I'm positive if I dig it up when Conley commited to UofM BN fans were saying things like OSU scraps, not good enough to get an OSU offer etc, but now he's the best corner in Ohio?

I believe his Mom lives in California, not Oregon. Regardless, point taken.

This is coming from a person tied into the Massillon program...

If Oregon offers it's a done deal, he's going to be a Duck. If Oregon doesn't offer he's going to be a Buckeye.

Yea that would not be that hard to do. But I know that Duane Long who evals. players for a living has always said he was the best cover corner in Ohio this year. I will take his word over your average joe poster.

Well, when you ask your girlfriend to marry you after having known her for only a few weeks (and she's still in high school), this is kind of what happens. Brady Hoke's recruiting style kind of resembles the same approach non BCS schools take. Offer early with an extremely grand gesture or visiting experience, hope for an emotional high from the kid which results in an early commitment, then hope like crazy that the pressure of the guy having already given his word means he sticks around. The problem with that approach is that sometimes, the kid will realize he committed too early without ever getting to experience other opportunities. Sure, many of these kids will stick with their commitment (maybe because genuinely like the school, or they've made friends with future teammates, or they do regret committing early but don't want to make people angry by wanting to look around). However, you can't fault anyone (especially a kid in high school) for wanting to take a look around after prematurely making a selection based on an emotional high. The Hokester is especially daft for his whole "But you already gave your word! If you leave now, you can NEVER come back" policy. These are kids in high school. Pressuring them into an early decision and then rebuking them for thinking that maybe they should've looked around a little more is pretty stupid.

No problem. Although regrettably, I've already added the "plugged ear" adjective to the "Real Men of Genius" commercial so with that last post, you haven't really given me new material. Sorry, mister rider. We don't want to be redundant.
