Hoke denies it, but I think there was some gamesmanship in not announcing if Fitz was suspended or not until today. With Rawls and Vincent Smith in the game, it's a totally different game plan.

It hurts. Frank Clark is in the two deep at DE and had a very good Sugar Bowl. And Fitz is the starter at RB and had over 1,000 yards last season. But it is what it is.

We don't have any WR that a cut above the rest. The drop off from our top WR to the second is very little, so losing an WR wouldn't hurt us. Fitz is a cut above all the rest of our RB's unless some freshman is awesome and we don't know about it yet. So losing Fitz hurts a lot more than and WR, especially considering he's really our only decent zone runner, for which the only way this O-line is any good is zone blocking. Not that having Fitz would make us win; I think we lose either way. But just saying that above poster hasn't scouted UM very well if he thinks losing a WR would hurt more.

I am sorry i know its the right thing but Chet this sucks and i am a Bama fan.
Why couldn't he wait until a game later in the year against a nobody team though? Really what is the problem with that? Now you guys will be saying the only reason you beat us is cause we didn't have 2 of our best players. This sucks. Oh well hopefully Bama wins by 40 points or more to shut that stuff up!!

If he leaves the pocket, then he will throw off his back foot and make bad throws, along with having defenders come down on him and take the risk of getting hit big in the open field. The only time I would want him out of the pocket is for a designed run.
